Good morning,

I didn't make roll call yesterday. I totally overslep. I wanted to leave my house by 7, and wouldn't you know it, I awoke when my daughter called me at 5 to. so, I told my DH to make sure I was up when he left. I want to leave extra early this morning, since I know, it will be a day from heck today too.

Nothing much happening. Our grass is starting to show. Hubert also planted alot more yesterday. Maybe we will have a real lawn yet this summer.

Gotta go and make the bacon ($),

Have a great day, stay hydrated and safe.

Huggers,
LISA

Good morning LIsa and the rest of Illinois!

I am working as usual, then have to leave a tiny bit early to pick David up and get him home by 4:30 so he can meet his ride to Scout Camp's family night.  Liv has rehearsal in Pec so it will be another late night.

Liv leaves Friday morning and David on Saturday.  Todd will be home Saturday afternoon for "A Day in Rock City".  I have got a craving for turkey on the grill, so I will go out at lunch to see if I can find one, along with some apple cider for the brine.  It will be very strange not having the kids at home for the "Day" and also not being involved in supervising any of the activities.  Oh well, relaxation is a good thing, right?

Not too much else happening here!

Everyone have a spectacular day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Hello everyone

I'm at work right now, on break.

I'm still debating with myself about joining a gym.  I guess I'm worried that I will be the fattest person there and everyon will stare and have perfect bodies.  I was looking at LA Fitness, which is cheaper.  It's $39.95 per month and with my work paying $20, it will only cost me $9.95.  That's more affordable.  But I guess I'm just worried about what to expect.  Believe it or not I have never been a member of a gym.  I will be thinking about it some more.

I went and saw Desipcable me yesterday and it was soooo cute.  I loved it.  My favorite cartoon movie in a long time.

Well I better get going I have a stack of inter-company adjustments to do...YEAH!!! (not)

Have a great day...

Hi Crystal,

If you haven't already, I'm sure any of the gyms would give you a "trial membership"...maybe a few days, maybe a week, where you could go and get intsructions on the machines and also decide if you are comfortable going there.  Good luck.  Congrats for considering taking that step.  The help from your work is a great incentive.

Happy hunting!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you are all having a good week.

Christine: Hang in there, I hope your sinus infection is getting better day by day! I know how miserable sinus infections are. ((((hugs))))

My son and I joined a gym (Snap 24 Hrour Fitness) it's really nice because there are a lot of overweight and elderly folks in our gym. I know some places like Golds or what not have more of the "healthy muscle crowd" but this gym we go to doesn't. Also I know many folks mentioned the "Y" (YMCA) as being a comfortable place for their gym and water aerobics (A lot of elderly and folks who are heavy as well). Best advice is check the place out. I never feel embarassed going to the gym, for the simple reason people know I am there to get INTO shape! LOL   But I would just check out a few of the places your are interested in joining and see what some of teh clientel are like and if you are interested.

I have been doing good and continuing to heal and get better day by day. I am FINALLY on soft foods (although a lot of time I find myself still doing pureed because it seems to go down better).
Not that soft causes any discomfort, just I don't know...Feels weird! I still have this phobia of damaging my pouch or internal sutures. It's just me! I have been blessed to have very little to no complications (knock on wood).

Other than that, everything is the same old-same old.  Hot, humid and miserable around the St.Louis area, but we HAVE been getting more rain, so that is good. Next month the family is travelling to Bristol WI (right over the border of IL) to the Bristol Renaissance Faire. (We are Ren Faire nuts! I remember the Bristol-King Richards Faire back when I was a teenager growing up in the Lake Zurich-Chicagoland area!)

Take care everyone!
Warmly,
Jackie

Jackie, thanks for the well wishes. We will see how I feel in about an hour because that is when the last Tylenol that I took this morning is supposed to wear off.

I wish we had more of the Snap 24 hour fitness around here. It is a great concept. There are a few in the area but nothing close to our house that would make it feasable to join.

The Bristol Renaissance Faire is far superior to when it was the King Richard's Faire. There is more to do, more rides, more selections of food and trinket sellers. We are not going this year because of scheduling. But we did notice last year that there were fewer trinket sellers than in the past. The food is really good. Dave and I share everything because we both have had WLS. I always have to get the jerky before I come home.

I might have to start the afternoon report for us latecomers.. LOL.

I'm on day 3 of the meal replacement diet. Everything is pretty good, but I am so sick of that sweet taste in my mouth. I drank a quart of chicken broth last night just to get it out of my mouth. Today, I used an Unjury Chicken Soup protein pack. Pretty good. Is that going off plan?

Had the Upper GI yesterday. Have bad cough, that may delay the SX, saw PCP today and she has a plan to get rid of the cough.

More later,
Mary
