What can be done about goofs on the train who will not give up the seats for the disabled even after you have explained to them you have a disability and a reduced fare card tp prove it and the conductor has not been any help either?

Randy

So you have been forgiven?

I would be taking the name of the conductor and writing a letter to Metra!  That is discrimination and they have to apply to the ADA laws!

I grew up taking the train and I saw the same type of thing.  I have given up my seat for the disabled, elderly, pregnant women, women with babies...so on and so forth.  I figure what comes around goes around.  One day those people will be in your position and no one will give up their seats.  Karma is will bite them on the ass.

Not much you can do about the other passengers but in the future take down the name of the employee, train number from the schedule and write a letter or contact Metra on the phone and file a complaint. We have contacted Metra in the past via written coorespondence (negative and positive) and have always received a follow up letter from them.

It seems that people are becoming more and more arrogant in recent years with the "me first" attitude.
