Tuesday Roll Call
Revision on 04/19/13
Good Morning,
Went to a great support group in Bloomington last night. This could become a habit. Also stopped at Walmart and got some wild bird seed and suet. I love watching the birds get seeds out of the feeder, but boy, are they messy.
DH is home today, so not sure whats on our agenda. I do want to walk to Walgreens for a couple of things. That will be this morning before the humidity gets to much.
Stay safe and hydrated.
Huggers,
LISA

Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!
I am working today, and taking Liv to the museum for her shift at noon.
Her and her cheerleading friends (and coaches) were quite surprised and terrified yesterday by the funnel clouds that appeared in Rock City! The girls were up at the park, working on T-shirts for Cheer Camp, when they looked up and saw a funnel cloud (or 2) in the field behind the park!!!! They all ran down the street to my house and even into the basement! One of the funnels DID touch down at some point, but then went up and disappeared! LOTS of excitment in Rock City! Thankfully, there was no damage and everyone is safe and sound! While all this was happening, it was clear as a bell here in Rockford! I thank God for my great neighbors, who stepped in and took Liv into their house and split-level basement and got her calmed down. By the time I got home, she acted like it was no big deal. Scary cool, as one of my friends said on Facebook. We put up pictures there.
Tonight, Liv has a softball game and David is going out to get his "buddy badge" for swimming to take with him to Jamboree. That is getting closer and more exciting too!
I wish everyone a wonderful day!

Hi everyone!
We got some more rain last night and my Tomato garden is happy! It has been rewarding us with tons of tomatoes, zucchini and cukes. I have been making tomato/cucumber salad for everyone (with basil vinegrette) but I can't eat any yet. Maybe in a few months.
I been doing really well with my walking and yesterday I had a nice surprise. I went to Target to get some exercise pants for the gym (since all my 3X stuff is getting way to large for me) and I picked up a 1X thinking if it didn't fit now, it would in a few weeks or months...And it is nearly too big on me!
I was really shocked and so pleasantly happy!!!!!
OK. Confession time. I am supposed to go to Purees and soft foods tomorrow (like eggs and such) and I am TERRIFIED! I am scared I am going to mess up my pouch or it will hurt or something. So far I have not cheated once, and I do have a hard time getting all my liquids down because I keep thinking if I gulp to much I will damage my pouch/gut. No, I have not had anything stuck yet, nor have I vomited, the worst was some really crampy gas when I first added cottage cheese and creamed soups, but I just keep hearing these nightmare stories about people clogging their pouch or what not and I don;t want that happening to me, so I am almost scared to eat. Is this just in my head?
Anyways, I hope you all have a GREAT day and am sending big ((((hugs))) to all of you!
Warmly,
Jackie

I felt the same way each time I progressed a step in the diet. Surprisingly by the time I made the changes, I was ready. One of my first pureed/soft foods was cottage cheese. I put a small amount in a bowl, used a stick blender and blended the heck out of it until it was the consistency of dip. Then I used a baby spoon, took things slow and it was heaven. Eggs go down easy if they are scrambled. Another yummy at this stage is taco bell's refried beans and cheese. I loved it. My one thumbs down is they do not have a microwave to heat it so I would order it to go and take it home to heat. A serving lasted me a long time. Good luck introducing the pureed foods. Your body will welcome the change! Ahhh! Protein!

Good Afternoon Everyone
I just got home from work. I am smelling my experiment in the crockpot that I almost forgot to put in before I left this morning. I am anxious to see how it turns out. It is a version of chicken with a little rice and a sauce. Smells good. Taste will tell.
I made it through work today with a much more cooperative computer. It only rebelled after a fire drill. It did not want to let me sign back in. I should have taken the hint and left but somehow I don't think my supervisor would have liked that.
Mary, it is good to hear you becoming more definite in your decision to have the surgery. That is a HUGE step! Congratulations!
Dawn, tornadoes can be scary at any age. I am glad Liv made it through and thank goodness for neighbors. Glad there was no damage.
Lisa, it sounds like you had a great time last night -- glad the group was so good.
Everyone sounds like they are right in the middle of summer with all the activities.
I hope everyone has a great evening!
