Thursday Roll Call
I know that Jewel has a wonderful roast beef in their deli. I think it is called a London Broil roast beef. I love it. Ask to sample their roast beef to see if you like it. I can eat that one plain.
By the way, I wanted to tell you the other day, I have a grey cat that is identical to yours. I wonder if yours is as demanding for attention as mine is?

Good evening!
Yeah!! My weekend is starting. I have one more week of summer school to teach and then I am off till August 16th. In the continuation of this journey I have finally connected with the recommended psychologist. I will visit with him July19th. I am also hoping to get to some face to face support groups this month. I called my doctor's nurse to ask when I would be able to schedule the surgery. With teaching I am hoping to have the surgery in December so I can use my Christmas break as part of my recovery. My job is very physical as I work with children in wheelchairs so I need to be able to lift as soon as possible. Of course whether I can or not after the surgery and for how long till I am back to "normal" will all depend on my health and how my body reacts.
I find myself getting more excited as time progresses. Just the other day, I was making plans to meet with some friends from high school to go on a cruise next summer. What a wonderful treat that would be for me and my new bod!!!!
I need to get back to excersising and to to quit my habit of diet coke. I think that is the one thing I will miss.
I do have a question, GUM! When I asked the nutritionist about gum, she said I would have to talk to my doctor. I understand about the swallowing that goes with gum. I am just wondering if anyone out there chews gum and what effects are.
Have a great day

Hi Everyone:
I had my 1 week Post-Op visit yesterday and it went great! I was down to 257
Even I was kinda shocked! Got my Vitamin B shot and my staples out.
I was a VERY bad girl today. I had been doing so well recuperation wise, and so I was down on all fours kneeling to clean dog crates today (we have 3 dogs). And when I stood up I kinda felt something "give" and then a horrible sharp pain on my biggest incision on my left side (the lowest one).
There was also a bump inside of it immediately afterward. I told the surgeon and he checked it for a hernia and didn't FEEL any (he was probing pretty well there). But said I might have torn or loosened one of the internal stitches they put in. He said it was OK, and said just to take it easy for several days and to call if it got worse.
Has anyone else ever "popped" a stitch internally? It taught me to NOT over do things that is for sure.
But I am thrilled with the weight loss and the bump up to stage 2 pureed foods (Cream of wheat, egg beaters, more protein shake types, creamed soups, etc). Then 1 week after that I get bumped to the full soft diet. Wheee!~
As always thank you to each of you and I hope you have a great week.
Warmly,
Jackie

Good Evening Everyone!
Well there is lots of activity around my house this evening. My new gutter guards are being installed as I type. I am glad to get those done. Also, the trappers I hired last night have arrived and baited 4 traps to catch my raccoons. It is time for them to take up residency elsewhere. They may be cute but they are getting braver and I know they carry diseases so it is bye bye time for them. Hopefully the traps will be filled tomorrow morning.
Work was still hot today as it took all day to fix the air conditioner. It kept getting warmer as the day progressed. I was glad to get home to my cool house. I only cool to 75 degrees but that is fine for me.
Carol, I sure hope your day went better today than yesterday. Boy, what a day. I think I would have wanted to go back to bed, pull the covers over my head and call Mommy to come and take over.
I am sorry that your son is so upset over the school change. Sometimes as parents, you have to make decisions that are not popular with your kids. That is not fun for the parents but in the long run it is for the best. I am sure that once your son starts school, he will be happy in Oglesby.
I hope everyone has a great evening.

Hello Everyone!
Well today is my Friday. I'm taking off tomorrow to do some errands, and I've decided
I'm going to go back to school. So I'm going to check out online classes, with the
University of Phoenix and get my BS in Social Work. An eventually my Masters. I started
taking classes before my divorce when I was happily married. An then when that fell apart I had to go to work to survive. Well now that I have more energy, an I can still work my full time job, an take classes at home, I know that I can do this. I've wanted to do so many things before, just never had the get up and go to do them. Now I can!
Since I have 16 years before I can retire, I might as well retire from a job that I know I've made a difference in.
Since last August, I've quit smoking, I had a gastric bypass, and I've lost 47 lbs. Oh and moved in with Mom. Which by the way, i will be moving out of Mom's I just don't know when. Some things aren't going well and this is one.
Now don't laugh, I want to go into Social work for gerontology, to help the elderly. Yes I know I can't help my mom because she refuses to let us help her. Some people want help, other's dont. But maybe this has taught me that I can help others with the same problems. I can take what I've learned here and hope that I can help others from that experience.
