Monday Roll Call
Good day to all in Illinois. I cannot figure out the weather services at all one says cloudy and the other says decreasing clouds, let's hope it is the later.
We might take ourselves down to the local pool and enjoy it today. Afterwards we plan on slapping a couple of steaks on the grill. That is just about it for us.
Anything special going on with you and your family?

Good Morning Illinois,
My plans for today is to stay cool. Hopefully, the AC guy can come today and fix it. And, also get another pool day in.
We ae planning on grilling some kabobs today. Not sure yet what the sides will be. I would like to get in a walk, it will depend on the temp.
For those that aren't working today, have a great extra day off. For those that are, like my DH, you can enjoy the day afterward.
Stay safe,
Huggers

Hello everyone
I have today off and it's so relaxing.
I did a lot of cleaning yesterday. I did two loads of laundry with my new washer and it's wonderful. After 12 years of doing laundry at the laundromat it was great.
Also, my first attempt at a manicure was good. I need a little more practice but it looks good.
I am trying to decide what to eat for dinner. I have to take it out of the freezer to thaw.
Well have a great day.

Christine,
The weather map is showing a line of rain and storms from south of the Quad Cities, tojust south of Quincy, still mostly in Iowa.

Good Morning Everyone!
Another day home for me!
Laundry is on my agenda for today. I may also go up to Fashion Bug today. I noticed a sale and a store closing sign in their window yesterday when I went to Walmart. Not sure what is up with that but will go see if there are any bargains to be had.
Lisa, I am so glad you got your AC fixed. I thought about you a lot yesterday and figured you all had to be miserable. I usually just bite the bullet and pay overtime on evenings and holidays as I am not one who tolerates heat well. However, I have been with the same company for 17 years and they treat me right and give me some good deals. I work directly with the owner.
Chris, I have given up weather forecasting. Yesterday right before I headed to Walmart I looked at the radar and it looked like the rain was still in Iowa so I took off to the store. I did not even get to my car before it started raining.
Everyone have a great day. Stay cool and drink plenty of fluids!

Hi fellow Illinoisans!
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. We did some fireworks at home, the boys did a grill out and we watched the NCIS marathon all day yesterday
Lisa: I am so glad they got your AC working again! We had that happen one year during a week of triple digits and it was horrible. We were like 4 days without AC and when that new compressor came it was wonderful!
I'm doing much better day by day. Doing well at the liquid diet, and moving around. I just have to be careful about over doing it some. I nearly passed out yesterday in the shower, and then today when I had to drive my son to Petsmart to get dog and parrot food, I was walking around and just got that really weak/trembly, clammy feeling. Of course it makes sense, considering I just had major surgery and for nearly 3 weeks now have not had any thing to eat "proper" but liquid diet. LOL!
Each day I'll get stronger and that's the important thing. I actually just FELT really good yesterday for the first time...You know...Human, and "alive" again. Able to see that the journey is just beginning and will be a good one in the end.
I hope you all have a great week. It's now officially been 14 days since we've had rain in West Belleville, IL. Parts of St.Clair county are fine, parts are in a stage 2/3 draught. Go figure. My poor garden was doing soooo well. Now it's getting watered everyday, but still. It's just not the same as really giving a good soaking to everything. Our massive Oak tree is dropping all its acorns, so we have bucketloads of acorns all over the back patio. blah!
Warmly,
Jackie
