Sunday Roll Call
Hello everyone
What a beautful day it is today. I am going to walk over to the farmers market...I don't have far to walk it's right across the street. I like getting the fresh produce and the crafty things are cute too. That is all the plans I have today.
I am so glad Lisa is ok. I was really worried about you, Lisa.
Yesterday I went to the local book store. I ended up with 5 more books!!! I also got my first birthday gift. My friend dropped by yesterday with a Yankee Candle bag!!! I love Yankee Candle!!! She had a whole bag of stuff from there. I am burning one of the candles right now. I'm like a little kid on my birthday. I still love my birthday!!! Some people worry about getting older but I figure you're getting older whether you enjoy yourself or not so I choose to enjoy myself!!!
Well enjoy your Sunday.
I put some info on facebook about the storm. We have just rented the house to a girl that lost her house last night. We are going over this morning and clean it up so she can get in there today. For once, I am glad we had an empty house.
Will check back in later today.
LISA
It is such a pretty day. First thing I did this morning was open the windows. The cats and I are enjoying some fresh air. I feel sorry for the cats as they never get outside to enjoy fresh air when the ac is on. Now, each of them have claimed a window and will be there for the rest of the day.
Lisa, I am sorry to hear that your rental property got hit. I hope the damage was not too bad. Tornadoes scare the heck out of me. When the sirens went off last night I was not happy to say the least. I was thankful it went south until I realized that it went in your direction
Please keep Karen (Grandma) in your thoughts and prayers. She lost her sister yesterday. She was only 50. She lost her grandma a few weeks ago. Such hard things to deal with.
Everyone enjoy the beautiful day!

I am now on my way out to water the Topsy's and "survey my kingdom" as I call walking around my yard. I have some Omaha Steak in a cold water soak to defrost them for dinner.

Today was a busy day, My nephew graduated and today was his party.
Also today I got the chance to visit with my grandson a little bit. He's visiting
my ex husband, it would of been nice if the ex husband brought him to me, but
my life would or can't work that way. So I had to drive out there to see him. I didn't
really get that much time with him. But what little I did I was greatful for.
Feeling stronger, every day. Today for lunch I had chicken and rice. Rice did
not sit well. they say rice makes birds bloated, I think that's how I felt.
Took all my vitamins and medicines, It's hard to remember what pills to take
an this pill has to be spaced out from that pill. So many things to remember.
Even though I was tired from the activities today, I still made myself walk.
So good to "meet" you and happy you have joined us!
Rice is always a hard one. Some can never eat it. It does tend to swell a bit after it is down, which is why you get that "rock in the gut" feeling. When at the OH conference last year, Chef Dave gave us a tip about rice (although you should probably wait until you ar over 6 months out to try it.....). He recommends using an extra cup of liquid when you cook rice and let it soak THAT up to swell completely before serving. I have tried it and it really works. You would think it would make it soggy, but it did not. (This is assuming you are cooking with the 2 cups water/1 cup rice ratio).
Looking forward to getting to know you more and congratulations on your new life!
