Back to square one
Well, I am back to where I started. Not much luck with my visit yesterday, so now I have to try and find another surgeon. I called UIC and they said they take Medicaid for everything, gastric bypass included. I have to attend the seminar first and then meet with the doctor. I have read good things on the board about them. Does anyone know if they will take all of my tests that I have done, along with my nutritional and psych consults? I am really starting to lose hope here.
Hello
My best friend went to UIC. Her doctor was Ayloo. She had Medicaid and she transfered some of her tests. I think the main thing is they have to be recent. If your tests were done over a year ago they will probably have you retake them. As far as her nutritional visits she was able to use them toward her 6 month doctor supervised diet. She was approved pretty quickly. Now that you have a doctor that accepts Medicaid and does the RNY you just have to jump through their hoops. You will succeed!!!
I know you are discouraged but it will happen. Just keep fighting the fight. We will be here to give you support. I really think it will all work out for you. Good luck.

Dont get discouraged. Even if you have to start over, you are making progress toward your goal. I had to do my 6 month diet twice because accurate records were not kept. If you want the surgery badly enough, you will not give up. In the long run, does it matter whether you get the surgery tomorrow or a year from tomorrow? Try to put it into perspective. If you have to start over and refuse, you are no further than where you are right now. Take a deep breath, make a new appointment and move forward. It will happen! Trust me. Mine did.
