Thursday Roll Call
Fast fly by for me. Need to still get my breakfast made and then out the door. Today I go with the other secretary and 3 bosses to the DuPage Chief's Association meeting/lun*****elebration of Administrative Assistant Day (which was yesterday but the lunch is always the day after).
I have received answers to my health issues and things are getting much better being on 2 new drugs.
What is going on in your world?

Hello everyone
I am at work and ready for another busy day. Tomorrow is the last day...woohoo!!! I'm tired. Today is bring your kid work day. That always makes the work day less humdrum.
Well my friend did have to have her LapBand removed. It slipped and was scarring near by tissues (including the liver). I feel bad for her, she is afraid she will gain her weight back. Everyone keeps saying that maybe will be able to keep up her new habits. I tried to explain that it wasn't so much the new habits (because she eats healthy food)but the fact she couldn't eat normal amounts of food with her band. She lost her tool and now she can eat more than 4 oz of food. Let's face it without WLS 4ozs of food is not enough to keep you from feeling hungry. I feel bad for her. She was a LapBand poster child and lost 210 pounds with her band. She was my band mentor. I am wondering if I can talk or complain to her about my band now or will she feel bad? Would that be insensitive? I think so....hmmm
Well I have no plans at all for the next few days...just work and then Saturday...relaxing.
Have a wonderful day

So sorry to hear about your friend. While it IS true that she can still eat healthy, she will have to watch portions like crazy. I agree that the band was a tool that could help her to do that. My only suggestion is that she continue to eat small portions, but maybe 6 small meals a day? (Unless she is already doing that....) It will definately be a challenge for her and I feel for her.
If she is your best friend, she will still be willing to listen to your talk about your struggles and issues. After all, she's "been there, done that" and she is your friend.
I wish her luck and strength.
Good morning Christine and the rest of Illinois!
Glad to hear that your health issues are improving Chris.
Working today, then hopefully home to get the cannas and blueberry bush in the ground. I might wait on the bush since it is to get pretty chilly over the weekend, but it is also supposed to rain, which would be good. I will figure it out.
Not too much exciting for me.
Everyone have a spectacular day!

Good Morning,
I am happy that you (Chris) have a handle on your health issues.
Dawn, I need to plant some stuff too.
Crystal, Have a great weekend, you won't have to think about year end again for a long while.
i am in the process of cleaning the back bedroom. I have it as a hobby, exercise, ect. room, and it just got out of hand. I am putting it back to the neat space I try to keep it, and then work on the closet. I told DH that nothing else would get done this weekend until that room was done.
Have a great day and stay safe.
Huggers,
LISA

Morning, Christine and Illinois,
Christine, glad you are feeling better.
Crystal, I'm sure sorry about your friend, that is going to be rough for her.
I'm paying bills this morning and took my measurements. Can't believe it's been one month already. I'm down 42 lbs and 18 inches, very exciting. Need to get my shower and take some pictures.
Going to my Mom's garden club meeting this afternoon then to take our granddaughter to ballet and out to eat. We were supposed to be going to grandparent's day at her school this afternoon and found out that our daughter told us the wrong day, it was yesterday. I felt so bad for her waiting for us to show up, she's only 6. She was so excited we were coming. Hopefully tonight will make up for it a little bit.
Have a great day everyone.
Lynn

Glad you have the meds started Cristine.
I hope your friend gets better and can maintain or lose as she needs to Crystal.
Poor baby, both GD and GM.
My oldest grandchild is to gradute high school in May and right now I do see any way for us to make it down to Kentucky then.
My scales read 300 this morning after ablutions and absolutions. That was a major goal to be at 300 during this spring. The next goal was to be at 200 by next spring. A bit of a bummer that the Wii is reading 320 but since the scales were the only measurement I had from 517 to 327 I will count the milestone and keep on truckin'.
As to the two biscuits and gravy as far as amount of food. It was about a cup and a half of food. Sometimes I can eat as much as two cups of gumbo or stew. Even while in the hospital I could eat way more than I thought I would be able to eat. Maybe I do not eat often enough and that leaves room in the intestines for food to go through the pouch. It seems to me that all foods end up being slider foods once you chew them to cottage cheese consistancy.
I smoked chicken thighs over the weekend and thought I would be able to eat two small ones at one meal. About two bites into the second one my body threw up a big red stop sign. It was really a big disappointment to sit that partially eaten thigh aside for later.
