Medicaid Q's - Probably been answered before.

OK, so I'm sure these questions have been answered, but alas I ask anyway & maybe get some straight forward answers.

I made my initail Dr's apt.
I have called public aid but always been to get a call back due to the high call volume and it figures I always get a call back when I am working and can't talk. 
Can anyone tell me what requirements (other then the ones I know of ) need to be taken care of before anything else happens.

Public AId Reqs-1. Dr clearance
                              2. Dietition/Exercise specialist Clearance
                              3.Psycologist Clearance.

Who takes care of the approval letter?  How long does it take?

 As long as you meet the requirements of surgery, your surgeon accepts medicaid, and you go through the clearances (like you said: Psych, nutritionist, etc) then you have surgery.  Then they bill Medicaid.  You don't have to wait for an approval letter from them :) So no waiting on that.

Sam is correct. As long as you meet your Surgeon's criteria...psych visit, nutritionist, bmi guidelines...blah blah blah theres no "approval" for medicaid. They simply do the surgery and send the bill to Medicaid.
