"Hoppy"  Easter Morn to all that celebrate and Happy Passover for our Jewish friends. Hope you all have an enjoyable and relaxing day. I am just about ready to do some straighten up stuff before we walk over to Easter dinner with my brother and SIL. They more than likely will come back to our house to chit chat afterwards.

Do any of you have any fun Easter or Passover traditions? My sister and I got baskets which I still have mine and we used to hunt for eggs in the house. My folks used to tape coins to the eggs and there were always a couple that had 50 cent pieces on them. We also got brand new dresses, bonnets, white gloves, shoes and anklet socks.

Good morning Chris and all of Illinois,

I too remember Easter as a child, we would go to my grandmothers and get what seem like the biggest baskets that ever were.  We had our dinner yesterday so we could relax today before going back to work on monday.   So its clean up and do the bills and then maybe see a movie or to the mall for me and who ever wants go hang with mom today.

Everyone have a great day and enjoy.

Hello everyone

Happy Easter.

When my daughter was growing up we always did the basket and easter egg hunt.  Now she is older but I still send her a basket every year.  Also a tradition we always watched "The Greatest Story Ever Told" after dinner.  When I was little the movie scared me and I was afraid of Romans.  So I didn't have my daughter watch that till she was older.  I didn't want her to be scared too.

It will be a beautiful day I will take a nice walk to the Fox River.

Everyone enjoy your Sunday

 Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Easter!

It is going to be a beautiful day!  Get outside and enjoy it.

Our Easter traditions included the usual egg hunt, but that kind of soured after mom forgot where she hid one of the eggs and found it a couple weeks later in a basket of clean clothes waiting to be ironed.    Then there were the live ducks that were adorable until they ate one of dad's rare plants.     We looked back on those incidents and laugh but my parents did not think they were funny at the time.   Of course we always had Easter baskets and we got new clothes, bonnets and Easter corsages.  We couldn't skip out on the corsages as dad was a horticulturalist.

I have been to church.  Still dont know about meeting my sister for lunch.  I do need to do laundry and pay bills so I have plenty to do.  Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Easter to All.

Being a "mixed " religion couple , we celebrate both, Passover and Easter. So, we are doing steaks on the grill, per the familys request, and a birthday cake for the oldest, whose birthday is the 7th.

Growing us Jewish, we didn't celebrate Easter, but we always colored eggs. Mom rationized it by saying that eggs are the beginning of life, so we celebrated that. I do remeber one year we got live chickens, those chicks lived for almost 3 months, and then disappeared. Have no idea where.

Heres to having a great day, regardless of what you have planned.

Stay Safe,

Huggers,
LISA

Maybe your chicks went to the same place my ducks did.       I love the "stories" parents sometimes tell their children about where pets go.   Actually I do know where my ducks went.  Now, the cat that I had when I was young .......
