It usually does not hurt. Of course, she is under general anesthesia during the actual procedure. The prep and waiting take longer than the surgery. The surgery itself only takes 10-15 minutes. Then, we stay for a couple of hours until the drugs wear off.
The only pain can be if you get soapy water in your ears so she will have to wear plugs when she showers. The doctor said it can also be painful to go more than 5 feet under water, so if she wants to do that, she will have to wear her plugs then too.

That is a good idea Lisa about the crystal light and the protein shake. I don't care for the vanilla I bought so maybe I can get some use out of it.
So sorry for your troubles, Crystal. Drivers like that make you so mad. Hope they catch him.
Had a great afternoon with my granddaughters yesterday. We went to Panera for lunch (the broth from the chicken noodle soup was so good). The 6 yr old walked in our house, gave me a hug and a kiss, put her hands on her hips and said, "ok Grandma, let me see it" (my stomach). I told her it was gross but she insisted so I did. She really looked closely and then told me it really wasn't that bad. She didn't want to hurt my feelings but you should have seen the look on her face! They sure made my day.
Going to rest this morning then my Mom is coming over after lunch and we're going to transplant the peppers and tomatoes into larger pots. My husband got everything ready on the picnic table so I can just sit there and help her. I'm so ready to get my hands in the dirt but know I need to take it easy.
