Wish Me Luck Please!

Hi everyone.   Thanks again for being so helpful after my last couple posts.

I have completed my 90 day diet program, and my case is being forwarded to BCBS for review.  Wish me luck!  :-)   If I am approved, I am really, really hoping for a date in April, although that might a bit unrealistic.  I am having Band over Bypass done by Dr. Kane at Alexian.  

Some of you might remember I shared that I had Open RNY 10 years ago, and over the last couple years have gained approx. 40 lbs.  I am still 80 lbs ahead thank goodness.  I did well keeping weight off for awhile, but after a couple surgeries I started eating badly again and not exercising.  The weight began to pile on, especially after my  hysterectomy. 

Hopefully I will be joining you all during roll call soon instead of lurking and wishing I was also on the losing bench .  :-)

Alexian Brothers has a Lap Band support group the first Saturday of the month.  Please join us! http://www.suburbansurgicalcare.com/html/support.html  This is the site that has the schedule for the meetings.  Pre- or post-ops are welcome.

Good luck for a fast approval!  BCBS is pretty quick, so hopefully you'll hear soon.

Thanks, Georgie.  :-)   I was told it might take approx. 2 weeks, but I'm thinking it will be sooner.  I really want an April date.   I'm also wondering if they'll have me follow a liquid diet a week or so before surgery.  I am so ready!

You do not have to wait to join us on Roll Call, however.  Join in now so we can get to know you better and support you in all ways.

I also have BC/BS and once Dr. Kane's office sent the information to them it did take about 2 weeks.   Getting medical clearance took a little longer than I anticipated though with Pulmonary Function Test, Stress EKG, Echo Cardiogram with "Bubble" Study, Ultrasound of the Abdomen and so on... However - with you already losing 80 pounds I bet you won't have to have all of this!  

It's great you have not given up on yourself and you are continuing to work toward your goals.  And I am really grateful you wrote and shared about your journey!  Wishing you all the best......
