Hello everyone

I am going to get going soon to work....yuck.

Hey, does anyone know what to do about a foul odor coming from my kitchen sink drain.  I poured some cleaner down the drain (it's not a garbage disposal)and it worked for like 15 minutes and it started to stink again.  Ick...its really nasty. I don't know what to do.

It's rainy out and I think it's great...because Spring will be coming soon!!!

My daughter is stressed out over mid-terms..so no wedding talk right now.  For spring break her and her fiance are going to Mississippi to build houses for Habitat for Humanity.  I think that's great.  How awesome are these young people.

Well enjoy your Saturday.

Crystal, try running water for about 10 minutes into your sink. You can also dump a box of baking soda and let that be flushed down with the running water. Sink drains like floor drains that do not have enough water run through them can have the trap go dry and that is where the odors come from-sewer gas.

Chris

Top O The Mornin' to All! We have a St Patties Day party later on across the street this evening.

Crystal, I am not with you on the rain bringing spring. We woke up to Lake Bennett in the back yard this morning with us only having 1/2" of rain overnight. And we lost our cable TV because a branch from the neighbor's tree crashed down on the wire from the pole. ComCast tried to tell me that the first someone would be out is Monday morning and I told the call taker that was unacceptable. Dispatch is supposed to call me back after 7AM - I am still waiting . . . this stinks.

I forgot got about your lake in the back yard.  That would be a really good reason to not want it raining.  I will try your sink drain solution.  I hope it works.

Ooo. Nice, gray, rainy day. I like.

Today, I intend to take the plunge. I will drink my first protien drink.* Ever.

I'm aiming for dinnertime.

It's a can of Pure Protein Shake, Vanilla Cream, w/c I found a Trader Joe's yesterday. It's labled as a "snack." (Remember, I'm pre-op.)So, it's not really going to replace my dinner completely. :(Does anyone know if there is a such a thing as a complete "meal replacement" drink. Isn't that what you're supposed to do with something like Carnation Instant Breakfast?

I'd really like to find a way to "drink" my dinner as I'm approaching my expected June RNY. Dinnertime is when my compulsive overeating is more out of control, so limiting myself to a protien drink might help. Also, it might simplify my evening(s) so I can pay more attention to my daughter and her dinner prep & companionship.

I'll ask my nut about it during our next class, but I'm supposed to be making progress with extra protein now.

At the moment, I've prepare to bring protein drinks into my life by stocking a bag of EAS whey protein, a box of powdered milk, some of these cans of Pure Protein Shake, and a protein drink sampler from Bariatric Eating.

I'm scared, but I'll drink this Pure Protein thingy tonight. Any advice???

The Pure protein shake sounds good and it will give you 35grams of protein. That is over a 1/2 days amount needed (you need 60).

Good Morning on this yuck day. At least this isn't NY, where they have gotten the equivalent  rain of 30 inches of snow.

Today I need to go to the store, then home.I need to check my frabrics to see if I have anything for the backing of the quilt. If not, I will have to make a run to Walmart for frabricThen I will probaly start finishing my quilt, since I now have a frame for it.

Yesterday we went to Menards to price out a new kitchen for a rental, then to Hobby Lobby, for a quilting frame, and ended up at kohls, I wanted to look for a pair of Skechers. No good on that one, they only come to size 11 and I needed a pair of 12's.

I did get some onion sets yesterday. Now I need to decide where in the garden they are going.

Have a great wet day. Stay safe and warm.

Huggers, LISA

Sketchers doesn't come in size 12's.  You might try New Balance.  I know I wear 12's.  It sucks but it is the cross I must bare...

35G of protein at one time is more than our bodies can absorb. 30G of protein is the limit and then all the rest is wasted. The protein drinks with 30G+ are designed for super athletes. You might want to get the EAS ready made drinks and try them first. Osco in the suburban Chgo area has them in the 4 pak in a few different flavors. Also keep in mind that your taste buds might change PO and what you like pre op might taste like CACA PO. I am not fond of most protein drinks but love EAS ready made. I get mine by the case at Sam's but they only have chocolate. Before you buy a whole case try them in the 4 pak as it is a lot cheaper.

The big thing for me with EAS is that I make sure it is really cold.

Thanks! In the store, I managed to make sure Pure Protein in a can didn't have too much sugar, but wasn't aware it might have too much protein (and super athelete, I am not). Live & learn, thanks to OH folk!
