Saturday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I'm up bright and early today.  I have to pick up my treadmill today!!!  I hear they are very heavy.  I will need help getting it into my apartment.  My friend that I'm buying the treadmill from is also making us breakfast...how sweet is he.

I also bought a fancy pedometer yesterday (at least I think it's fancy).  It's like a normal pedometer except when your done for the day you can download all of the data on to your computer and keep track of your progress every day.  It's really nice, and costs about $38 with shipping on Amazon.com.

Now all I have to do is buy some decent gym shoes, the ones I'm wearing are 4 years old.  The problem is finding ones I like, that are affordable in my size...I wear a size 12...I know I have GIANT feet.  Finding size 12s in women is hard.  Most places don't carry that size. Believe me I tried looking.  Some shoemakers don't even go up that high, like Sketchers.  So as always I'm stuck shopping around forever and always have to settle for shoes I don't like, because the ones I like don't come in my size.  That goes for dress shoes too.  Bummer.

I am hoping Paul is recovering from surgery.  Those of you on Facebook heard that he had to have his band removed do to complications.  Sending lots of healing vibes.

I am also hoping that Dawn's good friend is doing well and that clot has dissolved.  I had friend that had the same thing happen to her and she was only 32.

Well better get going.  By tomorrow I will be bragging about my treadmill.  Have a nice day.  It will be beautiful outside.

Morning, Crystal and Illinois,
Boy Crystal, you are up early, must be excited for that new treadmill.  I'd also suggest getting yourself a small MP3 player if you don't have one.  I ordered a Sansclip from Amazon, much cheaper than the I-pods and work great.  The music really helps to make the time pass.

I feel for you on the shoes, my aunt wears a 12 too and really has a hard time.  She mostly goes with mens shoes for exercising.

We're heading to Morris this morning to help our kids take down a few trees in their yard.  Hope it warms up pretty fast.

Chinatown was really nice yesterday, tried a new restaurant, Joy Yee Noodle Co.  It was really good, they had the best hot tea.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good Morning,

Crystal, I can agree with you on finding shoes. With my size 12s, when I find a pair I can wear, I usually buy 2 pair of them. Sometimes I am lucky and can wear an 11. I hope that Sketchers will fit. I love those new ones that are out. Enjoy your treadmill.

Lynn, we are often on the parent duty too with our kids. Of course we learned it from our families. They were all chip in and help people.

I knew Paul had surgery, but didn't know why. I must of missed that.
any idea what he is going to do now?

I am off shortly to deliver some stuff that a friend ordered from my DD. Then, leaving about noon to go to Paytons Roundhouse. I have never been there, so it will be an experience.

It looks to be a nice day. Yesterdau, DH and I took a mile walk. It was so nice out. We may waqlk again today if there is time. If not, I will walk on the treadmill.

Keep those sunglasses handy. Stay safe.

Huggers,
LISA

Good Morning Crystal and Illinois Buddies!

My mood lifted about 5 notches today when I opened my curtains and saw the sunshine.  AHHHH.

Crystal, I'm excited for your treadmill!  You go girl!  Your pedometer sounds interesting, do you mind posting the brand name/model? I like to track my progress, it keeps me motivated.   I agree with Lynn about the music, I have a few playlists that I designed with good songs for warm up, fast walking, then cool down.  It really helps me enjoy the exercise.

I'm sorry to hear about Paul, he's had such a rough time with banding.

Have you tried New Balance Shoes.  They are expensive, but one pair will last at least a year of workouts.  They have every size/width/support level imaginable and are really good at helping you pick the correct size.  I know they have stores in Geneva, Chicago and Highland Park.  I buy both my workout and work shoes there, don't know what I would do without them.

Well, I'm very excited about my day today.  I'm taking a knitting class, then going to Cirque du Soleil with Emily and Steve.  I had a little WOW moment when I realized I didn't have to be anxious and self-loathing for the whole week prior, because I shouldn't have any trouble FITTING IN THE SEAT.  Oh my, such an amazing thought, almost made me cry with joy!

Have a great day!

Stephanie

Funny you mentioned New Balance because I just got a coupon in the mail today for the Geneva store.  It's $10 off.  So I will be getting some New Balance shoes.

I am up in the morning so early for me.  This is becoming a habit but it is killing me.  Sherry is doing great with the rehab from her knee replacement.  She is working from home and though she tries to be quite the phone wakes me up earlier than I would normally get up.  I am back to my field service tech work but nothing in the queue.  I repaired a lift chair on Thursday though and being one hundred pounds lighter made it so much easier.  My dream life was active last night but I am not sure about how great that is as I am proud that I went for a run in my dreams but was feeling guilty both in my dreams and after I woke up because I also ate some Oreos in my dream.

So you have been forgiven?

We were up fairly early to run errands. We have been to Woodman's in C'Ville where we picked up some different cheeses that you cannot get at most grocery stores. During that stop we bought our corned beef to make our corned beef and cabbage dinner tomorrow. We do ours in the crock pot but cook it in the garage so it does not stink up the house. After that we drove west on I90 to the Huntley Outlet Mall. I wanted to get some new slacks for an event in April but opted out as I will buy online at JCP instead. Did get my replacement Topsy Turvy that broke on me last year. Afterwards we drove back east and stopped at the Sanfillipo/Fisher Nut outlet store and picked up some green sprinkles (for St Patties cupcakes) and nut snacks (unsalted).

Home again, home again jiggity jig. All you kids at heart have a great rest of the weekend!
