LONG TIME NO SEE!!!!!!!!!

Hi all!

Long time no see.

This is Dave from the old days. Just thought I would pop in and say hi. Tell everyone whats been happening.

Well.......... heres how I am doing.........

I have officially lost 265 lbs since Dec. 10 of 2008. (I lost 250 in one year to the day) I went from 486 down to 224 at my last appointment, and am still losing about 5-8lbs a month. I lost more than anyone who has gone through UIC medical center. They were even talking about using me as an example for others.  For commercials or whatever.

I went from a size 64 pants down to a 36-38 now.

I am doing great. I am still driving a bus and going to school full time. I have actually been off since Dec. 8th when i got a tummy tuck. (BTW: Very painful, and I am not happy with the results incase anyone is wondering.)

I was riding my bike about everyday, until I got hit by a car a couple months ago and smashed it. (And knocked out one of my front teeth.) So we just settled with the insurance company and they are paying for a new bike and about $4000 in dental work. I am glad, because I pretty much wore my old bike out, and needed a new one. So its all good. (I didn't wear out my teeth, but I am getting a 4 tooth bridge in front.)

I ordered a new bike from the shop in town about 2 weeks ago. It is an XXL Specialized S-Works. Total cost $7800. My other bike was custom made for me when I was 486lbs. It was a nice bike, but the new one is going to be super nice. It will be here some time this week. I can't wait. I am riding it in the cold to get used to it again. I am going to ride it to work from the day I get it until it snows again. I think my bike riding is why I lost my weight so fast. I can't wait to get my new bike WOO HOO!

Anyway, Life is good.

Hope all is well with you all too.

God Bless

Dave

Hi Dave,

I was "lurking" when you had your surgery and were on, and I've often wondered how you were doing.  What SUPER success.  Congrats to you.  You look like a different person, and I'm sure you must feel so much better.  You should be very proud of yourself.  Hope your are ok from your accident and get your teeth fixed!  Enjoyed looking at your updated pictures.  WOO HOO for you!

Best

Dave, Welcome back. You have been missed! Wow, what a super job you are doing. I am sorry that you were in an accident. Those are never nice. At least they are paying for your teeth and new bike. You will have to come to the next get together whereever it is for us to see the new, super improved Dave.

Wow!!!  What a great job.  I was just wondering where you were and what you were up to.  I can't believe $7800 for a bike.  That's a lot of money.  You could buy a used car for that much money.  Well I hope you start joining us on daily roll call again.

Wow. $7800 Will you now be training for the Tour De France? Dr. V saw you just before he saw me the last time I was there. You could tell he was a bit surprised that we had talked. I am at 318 this morning and my goal is to be at 300 by spring and then to start exercising. If my wound completely closes before then I will begin swimming. Cannot afford a bike right now and it would still have to be a heavy duty one. 318 is pretty nice but I am looking forward to the 2s and hopefully 250 by my one year mark. That would be 166 post op and 100 pre op.

So you have been forgiven?

HI Dave-

Wow, you are doing fantastic! I am so happy for you!!  Very sorry to hear about the accident, though!!  That is just crazy!!

I don't mean to be nosey, but why are not happy with your tummy tuck results.  If you don't mind, where did you have it done? I appreciate the information!

Great to see you back!!!
