Saturday Roll Call

Good morning, Illinois,
Another dusting of snow here in New Lenox.  Looks like the roads are clear though.  I'm heading to the gym shortly.  Tried swimming laps yesterday and really enjoyed that.  It can sure feel it in my upper back and shoulders this morning.  I got all the pieces of my sweater knitted now I just need to work on sewing them together.  So far I'm really happy with it.

Not much else going on today.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

The play "Annie" was great last night. you almost forgot it was Jr. High kids.

Good morning Illinois,

Everyone is feeling a little better and at peace this morning.  Still missing Xena though.  Our plans for today include a hike at Starved Rock to see some ice falls and tire out the kids.  Hoping my knee and vicodin can hold out for it.  Thinking about bringing our St.Bernard with to help me walk, she's great that way.  I can hold onto her collar and she pulls me up the stairs.

Then I have grocery shopping to do, woowoo!

 Good luck on your hike.  I know I relied on my Vicodin but it got to the point that even with it I could not hike.  New knees make all the difference in the world!  I look forward to being able to do that again!

I'm planning on my walk and trying to get motivated to see my friends and drop off their GS cookies.  I'm tired and trying to work through it without a nap. I'm going back to work on Tuesday and feeling a little concerned about my energy level. They call me a little spark plug because I'm usually so high energy and after this surgery I'm feeling low key. But oh well, I will work through it.  On a good note I got my hair cut yesterday, so I'm feeling confident.

Good morning Kids of all ages.

I have been busy, busy this week with work and home. Tho it has been slow at work in the traffic & crime dept (ssshhh do not tell the criminals!) I have had time to do other things like review the FOIA law some more, create a form for my division and  I have also done some brainstorming with others.

Today we went to Abt  in Mortgage Grove, I mean Morton Grove to review the available flat panel TVs. If anyone lives in this area of the western 'burbs it is the place to go for appliances and gadgets. We have bought almost all of our TVs and appliances there as they have the best sales dept. and service. We pretty much had our heads on straight before we went in but came out shaking our heads being more confused. We need to do more homework into Plasma, LED and LCD. We are leaning towards an LG Plasma for the quality.

A short while ago I registered my own domain name. So, now if I change internet companies I will always have my own e-mail address. I really dislike when I receive e-mails from people that have changed to this or that and I have to update my address book.

We are going to a local play tonight with Overshadowed Productions. http://www.overshadowedproductions.com/news_events.php  They are a theater company that puts on several plays throughout the year. It is always something you can take children to. A couple of the plays during the year are musicals. Tonight's play is titled: John, His Story which is based on the gospel of John.

 Good Afternoon Everyone

Lynn, you must be getting lake effect snow.  It is clear and sunny here to the west.  

I am in a kick back and relax mood today.  I slept in and then snuggled the cats forever.  When you have 5 and have to give one on one to each, it takes awhile to give each one their own time.  Especially if I fall back to sleep during the snuggle fest 

I was up late last night printing some wedding pictures off the computer.  They were ones from family and friends.  The commercial ones have to be ordered and I have not done that yet.  They are expensive but you can get a disc for 19.95 for all the pictures so I may go that route.  There are so many good ones.  My downfall to getting to bed is getting involved in a project.  Oh well.  Good thing I did not have to get up early today.

Good Afternoon Illinois.

I'm really sad today.  Had to put my mini dachshund, Skeeter to sleep.  She was 13.  I was a very hard decision, but the poor thing was not eating, losing weight and just sleeping almost all the time.  That's the hard part about being a pet owner, you have to make the decisions in their best interest, but it is so hard.  Carol, I know you are right there with me.  I feel at peace with the decision, but will miss her a lot.

I think you had to make one of the hardest decisions ever.  It takes a lot of courage to put a pet to sleep.  I know how hard it is as I have also made that dreadful decision.  Your head tells you it is in your pet's best interest, but your heart is breaking.  Skeeter and your family had 13 wonderful years together that you can cherish and remember fondly.  She offered undying love and happiness to all.  She will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge playing as she did as a young pup, waiting until you can join her.  Meanwhile, do not be ashamed to grieve as you have lost a family member.  Hugs.

Thanks for the kind, encouraging words and the hugs.  It means a lot.  Today is a little better.  I do have many funny and fond memories.  One of her best "tricks" was I have a box with a hinged lid that has a buzzer in it.  When you press the lid down, the buzzer buzzes.  It was designed so that when Skeeter wanted outside, I taught her to buzz the buzzer to let me know.  When people were over and she did it, She was a big hit!  Again, I appreciate your kindness.  georgie
