Tuesday Roll Call

Helloooooooooo Friends!

Yes it is me, and yes while it is not quite Tuesday I am starting the roll call anyways.....

I know I haven't posted much lately but work, school, and life seems to take up all my free time.  Oh, and there is never a dull moment as there is always some type of drama going on....I could possibly be my own soap opera.

The beginning of this month my paternal grandmother passed away, so I had to do the obligatory show my face at the funeral on Feb 3.  My fathers side of the family always makes me stressed out.

I celebrated my 44th birthday on Feb. 5th, and while I was visiting with my father, when asked if he was coming to my graduation in May.  He said "he was busy", and did not even wish me a happy birthday.  The birthday thin was not a big deal, but the graduation comment really hurt.

I am 9 weeks away from graduating college, and cannot wait.  It has been a long five years.  I got my graduation announcements and my cap and gown a few weeks ago.  Now, I just got to get the announcements addressed and mailed.  The joke at work is that I will need a magnifying glass to read what will be on my diploma, as the school says I get one piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper that will read Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a concentration in Accounting.

Work is well work, nothing new and exciting there

My husband and I are in the process of buying a house and taking advantage of the first time home buyers credit.  We have had an offer accepted, but now have to wait for the sellers lender as it is a short sale.  So some swinging of chickens or lizards would be appreciated.  This will mean that I will be able to host one of those group outings that I have missed out on the last several times.

Oh, and my least favorite of things going on, is that my now 24 yr old daughter had an ooppps and got pregnant.  While there was protection involved, nothing is one hundred percent, and the boyfriend wants nothing to do with her.  She moved to Minnesota back at Christmas to live with her dad's side of the family.  In the mean time, she has informed me that she is having identical twin girls, and is keeping them.  While I do know that yes I am old enough to be Grandma, I am not ready for it.  It is hard for me to get used to.  But on the lighter note, I get to chuckle because the mother's curse came around and bit her in the ass real good.  You know the "When you grow up, I hope you have children just like you" curse.

Well that is all for now, I am lurking around and trying to read posts as oftern as I can, but I have to find time to sleep so some of my fun things had to be put on hold for awhile.

Just remember, spring is just around the corner.....

Hello everyone

Not much of anything going on here.  I'm not feeling well.  My stomach has been upset.  I don't know if it's something I ate or if it's stomach flu.

Wendi- Congrats on the graduation!!! Your daughter is having twins!!!  That's going to be a lot of hard work.   Coming from a single mom, I know how hard it is (and I only had one).  Especially financially.  I'm sure it will all work out in the end.  It did for me and my daughter and the hard times just make you appreciate the good times that much more.

I'm afraid to check my weight.  I think I may have gained some weight back.  Has anyone ever avoided weighing themselves bacause of fear of what they will see?

Well I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning!

Wendi it's good to see you again!

It looks like a great morning for sleeping in but I have an early meeting that I enjoy so I am up and about to be out! Today is a busy day but we have fun things later in the week.

Take care and have a great day!

Good morning Wendi and the rest of Illinois!!!!

Congrats on your upcoming graduation and grandchildren!!!!  It was hard for me to accept being a grandma at first, but being a grandma is WAY COOLER and more fun that being the mom.  I absolutely love the time I get to spend with Riley.  It is also fun to see the “parental payback" as you mentioned.  ;-)

I am working today, and so far, it is a bit quieter than it has been for the last 10 days.  I can use the break.

Things with us are pretty much the same ol’, same ol’.  I have my middle school theater group tonight, the Styx/REO Speedwagon/38 Special concert tomorrow night and Family Night with the Boy Scouts on Thursday.

We are having Riley over Friday and Saturday nights.  We plan on screening the DVD of the “Wizard of Oz" that David and Liv were in on Friday at the neighbor’s on the big screen.  That should be fun.  Saturday is my daughter’s birthday and she wants to go out with her friends, so we are keeping Riley for the whole weekend!

Crystal----the answer is YES!!!!!!  I have avoided the scale, but still suck it up and jump on anyway.  If there is bad news, I need to catch it before it gets out of hand.  With my tool and a lot of discipline, I can make it go back down before it gets too far away from me.  As a matter of fact, I am in that mode right now.  It seems I have gained 10 pounds that need to leave!  I have been not very vigilant lately and it is time to get back with the program.

I work 40 miles from my home and I did not see any accidents or cars in the ditch until the last 3 blocks, here in Rockford.  CRAZY!!!!  I am counting the days until Spring.

Everyone stay warm and safe and have a spectacular day.

Tell someone that you love them!

Good Morning....

Life is so busy right now.  I can't complain but man, sometimes I want off the roller coaster or at least slow it down.  I too have a grandbaby on the way.. My 19yr old step daughter is expecting.  I wish she lived closer so we could be a closer support system for her.

Quiznos is under construction but our target opening date has now been pushed back to mid March.  Cross your fingers.  We need to get it open soon.  Calvin has been w/out a paycheck for two months now.  Ouch!

Nothing else really going on.  Just staying very busy.  Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,
Just got home from the gym, strength training only as my knees are really hurting.  I am so hoping getting this weight off will help them.

You are going to love being a Grandma, Wendi.  It is so much fun.  We're going to be great-grandparents around the same time as my surgery, I am very excited for a new baby as our youngest is 6.

I have the dentist at noon for the second appoint for my crown and then our tax man is coming over tonight, keeping my fingers crossed for a refund!

Have a good day everyone.

Lynn

Hi Lynn,

I've taken off 50 lbs and can't BELIEVE  how good my knees feel.  I had my right knee partial replacement 2 years ago but was still a little stiff.  My left one would prbly need replacement in the future and have had cortisone shots and then synvisic to help.  Really, I can't tell  you how "normal" I feel, and I attribute it to the weight loss.  Good luck!  Hope you find the same good results.

RE: refund,...I had my taxes efiled (normally do) but I got my refund deposited (state and fed) in just a week!  Woo HOO!.
