X-Post--Update--soo bummed
Hi guys-
so this morning I was elated.I am currently working with the Kane Center for my surgery. This week I had scheduled appointments with the nutritionist, the psyc, the doctor they require and i had scheduled my appt wit the pulmonoligist. I already have had all the blood work done last week that tricare requires. So I was elated I thought after this week I would have everything done and we could submit to insurance.
well the doctor they sent me, was like how long do you have to do a supervised diet. I told him tricare doesn't require any, to which he responded "really, I thought they all did." well I want to see you in a month. oh and I want to put you on a prescription to lose weight." I said no I really don't want to be put on a prescription.
he said ok well see you in a month.
I'm bummed because now I have to see the nutritionist, psych, and "their doctor" in amonth, plus no guarantee this is the last time I have to see them.
I just feel mad because when I met with my surgeon he was like ok get this done right away and lets do surgery in march, (I leave in june for jordan for a week, and he said I need to have at least three months recovery time to go) well now my second and unnecssary appointment is march 23 and therefore I will not be able to have surgery at least until after my trip so we're looking at late july early august.
I'm just miffed.
i'll be posting this on a couple other boards, sorry if it clogs the boards

Normally I would say that is part of getting the surgery. From beginning to end it took me 8 months to get my surgery. I know some people are lucky enough to get it done sooner but most go through about the same thing I did.
But seeing that you have to leave out of the country I can understand the feeling of urgency. I'm sorry. I really hope this works out for you. I know you have been working on this for some time.

So sorry to hear about this "bump". Maybe call the kane Center and tell them what happened? Maybe THEY can explain to "their doctor" about not needing a supervised diet? OR......did you already DO the supervised diet last year, when you were getting ready for surgery the last time? Some supervised attempts are good for 2 years.
Lotsa luck!!!!
