Tuesday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I have been at work for awhile now.  The sun is up now.  There is a few months in the winter that I never see the sun (unless I walk over to the window at work).  When I get to work the sun hasn't risen yet and when I leave work the sun has already set.  I feel like a vampire....only go out at night.  I miss the sun...I'm sure everyone does.

Well I am getting lots of ideas for my daughter's wedding.  I of course will need to talk to her about everything.  How am I going to afford this???  Loans of course.  She would like to get married on the University of Illinois campus.  There is a Japanese garden she wants to find out if they can have the ceremony there.  It sounds pretty.

Well back to the huge stack of never ending work on my desk.

Everyone have a nice day

Good Morning -
I was off line for a few days and I missed the wedding proposal.  I'm guessing this was a Valentines proposal.  Congrats!

I was once like you, at work by 6am and may leave at 9 or 10 at night.. If I was not there, I was working my second job.  The best thing that could have happened was me getting laid off.  It was a blessing.  I did not know it at the time but it trully was.  It's not a healthy way to live a life.  I hope you can find a happy medium.

I know sometimes I think it would be a blessing if they laid me off.  I would be worried don't get me wrong but I think it would be the push I need to get out of this job.  But then I feel bad saying that with everyone out of work.

Everything happens for a reason..  Sometimes we get "comfortable" and need a push to better ourselves or follow our dreams.

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I forgot to congratulate you on your daughter’s engagement---CONGRATS!!!!  You will get lots of ideas and advice from everyone, I’m sure.  We did both our wedding and Amber’s without having to take out loans and they were both really nice.  Of course, friends in the business helped.  I had a friend do my flowers, and I did Amber’s.  We had a friend that did cakes and knew DJ’s for both weddings.  We also knew people that were members of the clubs where the receptions were held, and they got us great discounts.  Amber actually had a Hawaiian wedding, and had the ceremony and reception in the same place.  It was a great idea and everyone really seemed to enjoy it.

Last night’s Rockford Group was fun.  It is still a small group, so everyone gets to talk.

HAPPY MARDI GRAS to everyone today!!!!  I am working and then picking up my smoked meats on the way home.  I forgot to start the red beans for dinner……..darn!!!!  I will have to come up with another great idea for Fat Tuesday dinner.  I hear that many have pancakes for dinner on Fat Tuesday, but since we just did that Pancake Day, I don’t think the family would be up for it.  I don’t eat pancakes myself, but I would have a sausage and egg.

Stay safe and have a splendid day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Good morning Crystal and IL!

Congrats on your daughter's engagement.  A busy, happy time, I'm sure.  Not much going on here.  Been working on getting my new countertops measured and new appliances in.  I took Friday off to have people come and do those things.

Not much on the calendar for this week.  Meeting some friends for dinner on Thurs, otherwise, pretty quiet.  Chloe was here over the weekend, so good to have her around.

Stay warm and have a super day.

Planning  a wedding is so much fun and yet so stressful.  I economized on mine, we found a place that included the ceremony, reception site, and buffet.  I got my dress at a discount store, it was a closing house for wedding dresses so they were deeply discounted and some were one of a kind samples.  I ended up with a $3,000 dress that cost me (including veil, underskirting) a whopping $500.  I also had a friend do the flowers for me.  We made our own favors as well.

Good luck!

Today started out with a bang, my middle child complained of stomach pain so he stayed home, my youngest child woke up with dried boogers all over his face and then tried wiping his face on the St.Bernard so he ended up with a sticky face of fur.  So he's home from preschool.  I drove the oldest to school and then drove out to Morris to get patches for our Blue/Gold this weekend.  Ran into this guy who kept going on and on about how 'fantastic' it is about the consolidation of our school.  Then he noticed I wasn't sharing in his enthusiasm.  He tells me he's on the commission and asks me what I think of it all.  All things considered I made point without resorting to being completely *****y.  But he got the point.  I am not on board with it and next year our  children will not be there.

So now I'm home for a few moments before going to work at the school and even that's going to be crazy.  New rules for the intermediates at lunch that won't go over well. Fun times!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning, Crystal and Illinois,

Weddings are so much fun (most of the time!).  Hope you and your daughter can relax and enjoy it.

Went to the gym this morning and did a circuit training workout with a friend.  Really enjoyed doing something different, the time flew by.  We're going to try it again Thursday.

More knitting this afternoon then out for dinner for Fat Tuesday.

Everyone have a great day.

Lynn

Good Afternoon Everyone.

Crystal, we did a couple of "cheaper" things for my daughters wedding 4 years ago. One, she went to the store and bought loose flowers, we then made the bouquets, corages and bootheneers. Wehad more then enoughtflowers and only spent about $50. She also had cupcakes instead of a wedding cake. We did have a square cake made to have her topper on. She was also lucky enought to find a dress for almost nothing at a bridal shop here in Ottawa. It was a great deal and freed up money she could use somewhere else.  if nothing else, tell her that it will be a smaller wedding that you can afford, without taking out loans or help pay for it herself.

Ok, nothing else is happening here today. I will be exercising later today when I get home from work. Then watch some TV.

Have a great day,

Huggers,
Lisa
