Saturday Roll Call

Woke up to a fantastic view of the North Loop skyline, gorgeous! The city is coming alive with people driving into the Loop for their day. We can see the Ohio feeder ramp from the Kennedy from our room. We are off to The Art Institute of Chicago.  There are a few galleries we would like to see like lace and textiles, European pottery, Grant Wood's American Gothic (seen that before), the Impressionists, seen those before also. If our feet hold out there is an architecture and design gallery, furniture design and also Frank Lloyd Wright gallery. The best part of it is that the museum entrance fees are totally free for the month of February.  

Going to enjoy the view, have a great day.

I wanted to go over to Utica this evening for the Mari Grau (sp) parade this evening, but with the temps suppose to be in the single digits, I think we will stay home.

So, other then normal household stuff, I think i will work on a couple of projects I have going today.

Hello everyone

I'm at work right now.  I just keep thinking overtime, overtime, overtime.  But I still wish I was home cozy under my blanket. 

After work I am going to Target to return that exercises thing I bought.  Then Hallmark to buy a Valentines day gift.  Then home!!!

I am still on my search for my elliptical.  When I do find one I will need to rent a truck to bring it home.  Unless, I buy some where there had delivery. 

My daughter and I went to the Art Institute a few years ago.  I was in awe.  I just can't believe there are people in the world that can take a canvas and paint and make something so beautiful.  You see pictures of these paintings your whole life but it's nothing like seeing the painting in person.  I will have to make a trip out there this summer. 

Well I better go back to work.  Have a nice day.

I love the Art Institute.  I haven't been there is so long.  Have a great time

I have been MIA for the last week.  I have been busy knitting, keeping my hands busy and doing work stuff at home.  This week was also the 2nd TOM since surgery and it really affected me.  My eating was out of control.  I'm really working on getting it back in control.  I'm getting a fill in a couple of weeks, which will help, too.

I have some down time this weekend, but it is not at my house.  I'm doing an overnight babysitting job for some extra $$.

Sue, she is active duty with the SeaBees as a mechanic. She will come back home and continue her duty with the reserves for the rest of her service time.

My dad just got his retirement from the Navy reserves.   He was also a Navy recruiter when I was growing up.  :)  My grandpa was a SeaBee.

Morning, Christine and Illinois,
Your weekend sounds so fun and what a beautiful weekend.  I bet it is so pretty downtown.  We are toying around going to China Town for the New Years parade tomorrow but not sure yet.  Went last year and it was so hard to find parking.  I told my husband that is one place I definitely want to go for dinner or lunch before I start my pre-op diet.

Just got home from the gym, had a great workout with a great friend.  My knee felt pretty good but I didn't use any resistance on the elliptical so I think that helped.  It is still hurting from our Starved Rock hike.  I think I have more fluid on it by the looks of it but I'm trying to tough it out.

Hello IL!

Bright sunsine this morning, just wi**** was as warm as it looks!

Yesterday we had fun at Monkey Joes, kids played for 3hours! They were totally exhausted and unfortunately still tired and VERY cranky today.  It is not going to be a good day in kidville at our house.

Hubby just left for urgent care.  I guess he had a panic attack this morning and he's in a lot of generalized body pain.  He swears he has adult onset arthritis.  I'm not so sure, I'm thinking it's more like he hurt his foot, ignored the fact that he hurt his foot and either it's infected and that's what his body is reacting to OR he just irritated the foot so badly he's feeling the pain  throughout.  I feel bad for him, but he tends to let these things go on for too long before admitting he needs a doctor.

So while he's there I have to run errands with all 3 crabby children this morning.  Then I plan on putting a paintbrush in all of their hands and they can help me paint the basement walls this afternoon.  Then tonight we are meeting my parents in Morris for ice cream and so they can give the kids their Valentines Day presents.

Hello folks!

We've watched all the time the Olympics have been on. I even came home early from knitting tody so I could watch it this afternoon. Kay spent most of the day in Madison for a master gardener thing. We might go out to breakfast tomorrow for Valentine's Day but our 24th anny is next week, so that's a bigger day for us.

Good Saturday Night all!

Yes it's late but I wanted to pop in and post a hello.  I've been so busy lately with school and the kids and just home life.  I really need to get here more and get support, I really need it!!  Things haven't been going well on the homefront and it's affecting my eating  habits.  Unfortunately I've discovered that sugar doesn't bother me the way I wi**** would.  I mean I can't eat a lot or I get sick, but I can eat way more than I like!
I will get back under control though..I have to

Christine, I am so glad that you and Dave get to go out and have such good times!  I am also glad to hear that your niece will be coming home soon too!  Thank her for me please!
