Thursday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I am wishing it was the weekend.  The worst sound in the world...is the sound of my alarm going off at 4:30.  Even though I am wishing the weekend was here but I still have to come and work this Saturday.  So why am I wishing for the weekend???

Some lady at work is irritating me.  She is so rude.  I always come into work and get my cup and fill it with ice.  Two days in a row now I was getting my ice and she comes in and gets her coffee.  Well you can't get coffee when someone is at the ice machine...at least not without pushing the other person out of the way.  And this is what she is doing to me...twice!!!  And then she says "excuse me" in a very rude and arrogant way.  Ooooo it makes me mad and I just want to smack her.  Everyone else just waits till your done then gets coffee.  I hate rude people.  I want to say something to her but I don't because I know nothing good will come out of my mouth. 

Well have a nice day.  Stay warm.

Maybe she's just a *itch because she hasn't had her first gallon of coffee yet?  See this is where my passive aggressive side would come out and shine.  Since I'm still a big girl  I would use my size to my advantage.  I would firmly plant my feet and not budge when she attempts to push by.  When she rudely says "Excuuuuuse me" I will just as rudely reply, "I will when I am done getting my ice and when you ask me nicely" and then smile a very large insincere smile.  

That's just me, I'm not good at office politics.

So today I have the Trifecta of Class Valentines Day Parties, all 3 boys have parties today. First is preschool and then kindergarten and second grade is at the same time. Oy. I'm going to be running between classes.

I also work and will have my youngest with me since hubby has to go take a test for his class at IVCC.  Then we have our Cub scout den meeting tonight.  Which I'm trying hard to get my enthusiasm up for it but we had  a very disappointing fundraiser which has left hubby and I very disgusted with our parents and the support from our church.  Over superbowl weekend if anyone went into our local papa murphy's pizza place and mentioned the Scouts we would get a portion of the proceeds.  Over a 3 day weekend we only earned $25.  We were so upset.  So besides us there was probably only one other family that went there.  We advertised in the church, the school, the papers.  It's just really hard to continue working so hard for a group that doesn't reciprocate.  But we don't hold the kids responsible, just the parents.  That's what I'm trying to focus on is that the kids are excited to see us and what we are doing each week.

And I'm trying to focus on not killing my children as they woke up too early, they are very wired this morning and working on my last uncaffeinated nerve.  Good thing I'm dropping them off at school and running to get a quick swim in before all the craziness ensues.

Good Morning.

It is very deceptive outside today. The sun is bright, but the temp is cold. I want spring, or better yet, summer.

Even though i am off today, I have to do a home visit about 20 miles from here. I don't do many, but I will when I need to.Then i will come back and and either finish the household stuff or go shopping. Not sure yet.
Just got hold of PT at the hospital. I will be starting on Monday at 9am.

what can i say i'm tired, exercising is really making me tired, but only one meeting today and it's by phone, i have my 2nd visit for my 3 month supervised dieting plan, it's cold outside.

Good morning Illinois and Crystal,

I've had a short week (kind of).  Left work at 10 am yesterday to make my 3 month class and Dr. appt for my surgery.  Officially have lost 53 lbs (since July when I started with Dr. and of that 33 is since the surgery!)  My lab work showed that all my numbers were "really good" according to Dr. Joyce.  My blood sugar, which was always on that borderline number of around 102 or so, was.....89  Yippee.  My PCP did a cholesterol check.  I have been on Liptor for a long time.  They called and told me my numbers were good and to stay off the Lipitor.  VERY happy with that!  NSV this past weekend when I went to FArm and Fleet to buy a pair of jean that fit.  I'm in a size I haven't been in, really, for YEARS.  I told my girlfriend, Look, no elastic in the sides! 
I am off tomorrow.  Getting new appliances delivered and measurers in for my new countertops. 

I got a very slight fill of .2 cc, but I can feel it this morning, so that seems pretty good.  Crystal, just hope it doesn't go too tight on me like yours did!

Yesterday was a sad day for me.  One year that I lost my dear sister very unexpectedly.  My BIL and two dear friends and I met for dinner last night.  We all miss her terribly. 

Lisa, hope your PT goes well and your back begins to feel better fast.  Be careful wandering around on the ice. 

Carol, you must be one of the busiest people around.  Sounds like your kids keep you hopping!

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

 

Crystal, I hear ya about rude people.  It seems that I have been on edge again lately.  Little things tend to set me off and my boss is REALLY setting me on edge.  It seems like every word out of his mouth annoys the HECK out of me.  I agree that sometimes saying nothing is better if you KNOW you can’t be nice.  The good news for me is that he is leaving tomorrow for at least 2 weeks, maybe more so it will be more relaxed around here.  We ALL work better when he is away.  One of the things that is REALLY annoying me is that since he will be gone, he just ASSUMES that I have no problem doing at LEAST 40 hours to cover for him while he is gone-----he NEVER even ASKED me if I minded or had any plans.  HE is the one who cut our hours to 32 last year.  On the one hand, the $$ will be nice……on the other----I HAVE gotten used to making plans for those non-working hours and it annoys me that he did not even consult me, just ASSUMES that I will step in.

 

Anyway…….I am looking forward to a calmer working environment over the next two weeks and will figure out how to arrange the time.

 

My theater group was cancelled for tonight so I get to decorate cupcakes (over 50 of them).  Liv is going on the annual school ski trip and I promised to donate cupcakes to the “Post Prom Committee’s" bake sale tomorrow.  Liv is the cupcake girl, but I will manage.  Maybe I can get the boys to help?????  I like doing it, but it is HARD not to lick my fingers……..frosting is WAY too sweet and makes me sick.

Work can be very frustrating!  I was thinking your boss is a family member, is that right?  If so, is that even harder?
