Hi, new to the boards
Hi, I am new here, but not new to the research and processes, I am currently in my last month of a 12 month supervised diet (per insurance) and have recently gotten my psych evaluation done. I have a couple more hoops to jump through like cardiac echo and stress test, and a pulmonary function test (also per insurance) but will have all of that wrapped up by the end of the month. I have a surgical consultation scheduled for March 10th, and hopefully will have my approval by then as well. I have been working with a case manager from the insurance company so that all of my clearances may very well be done and to the insurance company before I ever see the doctor. With any luck and a large amount of praying I will be approved on the first try. I have been trying to do this since 2005, finally I am within a month or two of this becoming a reality. I love reading all the posts, and am looking into finding a good support group either in St. Louis or here in Illinois locally.

Welcome!!!
You have been on a long journey and soon you will getting your surgery.
We are a tight knit group here and we always support each other in all aspects of our lives not just WLS. Come join us on our daily roll calls so we can get to know you. Good luck on the rest of your journey. Hope to see you on roll call tomorrow.

Hi Kristi, I grew up in te Metro east area, and even though I am no longer living there, I still enjoy visiting friends that still live there. Anyway, welcome to the board, and yes, we are very supported of each other in all areas of our lives. Where are you having your surgery at? They should have a support group that you can attend. Or, at least have a name of on that you can attend.

Welcome, Kristi,
I recently joined the Illinois boards and really enjoy it. Everyone is so supportive and nice. You found a good place! That is great you are working with a case worker from your insurance company, I was totally relying on drs. and never could get a definitive answer on everything that was needed, very frustrating. Best of luck with your remaining "hoop jumping". Do you know what type of surgery you want?
