Edit ..........  I rcvd the rest of my lab work tonight and it looks like I'm fighting some type of infection.  Quite a few things are out of range.

White Blood Cells 12.5 H
MCHC 32 L
Neutrophil Count 10.1 H
Neutrohils 81H
Lymphocytes 12 L
% Saturation 18L
TSH 12.78 H
Free T3 2.10 L
Vit D 28.6 L

My Ferritin is at 9.7 and it was at 6.3 in October so it has come up a little.

Waiting to hear back from my endocrinologist and family doc.  I'll keep you posted.

For those that have been following my blogs from time to time... I had an appointment with my surgeons office on Wed.  They did do lab work and a portion of the results came back today and low and behold, I'm not crazy like everyone thought I was  .  Apparently my thyroid is way out of wack.  I was surprised because it was normal in October when they did blood work but I'm wondering if it has anything to do w/ the low ferritin levels and increased amount of iron I'm taking.  So, I'm already on thyroid meds but my surgeon said it needs to be increased or changed right away.  He already faxed the results over to my endocrinologist for his review.  I will call his office tomorrow to make an appointment to see him.

So, half the battle is finding what is off and now I just have to get the right meds to make me feel better.  It's kind of interesting because the symptoms of thyroid problems are very close to the symptoms of depression so I guess I will forgive the person that pretty much told me I was depressed/crazy and needed to seek professional help.
Thanks for all your continued suport.

I knew something was not right.  You know when your body is not responding right.  I would not be surprised if the labs reveal even more.  I am glad that they found the thyroid and can get that addressed.  Keep us informed.  We care.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Hugs.

I am so glad they found something and can now make you feel better.  I will be sending you lots of healing and feel good vibes.

Is thyroid a genetic disease.  I know my mom had a problem with her's.

I believe it can be genetic.  My mother and one of my sisters have had theirs removed.  I never had any problems with mine until 1 1/2 hrs ago.

Thank for the healing and feel good vibes.  I need it!  It really stinks feeling the way I've been feeling lately.

I am so happy that you have gotten some of the results of your tests. Even bad news is better then none. Thyroid  disease can be helped with medication.Thank God you insisted on labs being taken.

Thanks Lisa -
I started taking meds for my thyroid about 1 1/2 hrs ago after my first round of feeling sluggish, emotional, not connected.  Since then the lab work on my thyroid has come back good and then bam, now it's out of wack.  They will get me feeling better soon.  I'm just glad they know what is causing me to feel the way I am and can work on fixing me.

Hugs to you.

Good to hear you are getting this all sorted out.

Not sure about the iron and thyroid thing, but have you considered getting iron infusions rather than taking daily iron? I have had two iron infusions and it feels awesome, and no pills to deal with (timing them so those and my calcium don't cancel each other out, etc.)

Take care,

Nicolle
