Excited for tomorrow!
Hi Lynn,
I don't have a surgery date yet. Today's class was all about increasing our fiber intake, what the surgery (RNY) is like and how it affects our absorption of food, calories, vitamins, etc. We also got our homework of planning our meals for every 4 to 6 hours and starting to keep track of calories and fiber intake for the next 4 weeks. The nutritionist running the class said that tomorrow or Thursday I should hear from the scheduler in the office to set up my surgeon consult and next 2 classes. After that consult they will send my stuff to insurance and she said the timeline can be anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to get my surgery date. It depends on how fast the insurance replies with an approval.
In fact if any with Medicare can give me an idea of how fast/slow they are about responding with approvals it would be great to hear!
Given the fact that the last two appointments they've set up for me were within days of each other I'm hoping to have my surgical consult next week. Then I'm hoping for surgery in April if possible. I would sooooooooooo be estatic if it could be that soon. I am so over being fat and in pain. I'm ready to turn over my leaf, oh heck, I'm ready to take this 'leaf' and burn it for all it's worth and grow a new leaf and enjoy life instead of struggling every day just to make it one more day.
