ooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Rough start this morning.  We went swimming last night, my youngest wanted to be in the deep end with his older brothers so armed with a swim belt and noodle he swam down there and I followed.  I spent an HOUR treading water while he happily dog paddled all over the deep end.  I think I pulled a muscle in my hips with all the treading I did.  It does not feel pleasant.  Hoping the vicodin kicks in soon.

Busy day today despite feeling like the tin man.  Hubby is going to go set up the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby track and while he does that I am running errands with all 3 boys.  Gotta get one child's hair cut, make some payments, go to wally world, then we are headed up to Peru to check out two furniture stores to compare prices on mattresses. Then Staples, Menards, Game Stop (boys will be so happy) and hubby is then meeting us at Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. I know, not a good food choice but I'm going to enjoy ONE naughty meal this week.  I'm still preop   I'm hoping the boys don't totally turn into ***** mode (they haaaate shopping with a passion).

Hope everyone enjoys their sunny Saturday.  I keep thinking the end must be near to this Arctic weather..of course you all know come August we will all be *****ing about how we are done with the heat!

Have you looked at Marr Sales in Marsailles for a mattress?I don't know if they make mattress's for Macy's, but I do know they made them for Fields. And they were more reasonal priced then anywhere else. We have bought many fromthem over the years.

So sorry you hurt yourself yesterday.  Ouch!!!     If you have the money, I would highly recommend a temperapedic mattress.  I got mine at Steinbergs.  They have periodic deals that have no interest for 5 years and I only pay $60 a month which makes it very affordable.  I LOVE it.  It is wonderful for arthritis.  I haven't slept so pain free in years.

How is Buffalo Wild Wings?  I haven't eaten there yet.  The parking lot is always full.  Have wanted to try it but dont really know what they carry besides wings.  Hope your day is productive

Well it seems like all the walking I did worked out the sore muscle.  We've looked at the thermapedic mattresses but they are out of our price range.  We haven't looked at Marr Salles yet, I was only able to get hubby and kids to look in Sherman's and we did find one mattress that was nice and in our price range.  I almost fell asleep while doing the test "lay down".  Of course at this point a bed of nails would be an improvement over our current mattress.

Buffalo Wild Wings was Ok.  I had a few wings with med. sauce and honestly, they weren't spicy enough for me.  Then I had their chicken buffalitos, which is basically diced chicken with buffalo sauce in a soft taco shell.  The chicken was very tender, which was good, but overall not really worth the price.  Plus it was kinda loud in there.  But it was fun to watch the Blackhawks game on the realllllllllly big t.v.s.  It also kept the kids quiet because hey, they got to eat and watch about 10 different t.v.s!!!

I did stop at the GNC in the mall and got two samples of GNCs AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60.  It has 280 calories, 60 grams of protein, and 2 g of sugar.  I guess it is a Protein Blend?

What kind of scares me is that this is a single serve trial packet and well, it seems rather LARGE.  I'm supposed to mix it with 12 oz of water.  Think I will try this puppy out tomorrow and see what the ol' taste buds think of it!

Dear Carol:

That sample is more like 2 servings for a post-op.  The numbers look really good per serving though.

Many nutritionists and surgeons recommend that each serving of protein powder be 30 grams as there is debate about weather we can absorb more than that at one time.  I always shoot for 30 grams of protein, less than 150 calories, less than 5 g sugar and mix with 6 oz. of water.

I agree about Buffalo Wild Wings.  Kind of pricey for what it is.
They DO have "Naked Chicken Strips" that are not breaded and you can pick any of their 15 (I think) sauces for dipping.  That is a good choice if you are going with others.

 Hi Kelly

Join us when you can.  It is great to see you again.  I take 5000 mg Biotin daily and my surgeon really stressed incredibly high levels of protein to fight that hair loss.  I was really worried about it as I am already partially bald on top.  Fortunately, for me that worked.  I was/am ingesting between 90 and 120 grams of protein.  The taller you are, the more grams you need.  I am 6 feet.  That is a LOT of protein, but if you are careful with your food choices, you can do it.  I know how you feel, as I lost a lot of my hair following gallbladder surgery and at the time I did not realize it was from surgery.  Hang in there.  It does grow back.  I got a couple of wigs just in case I lost a lot again.  I went through Paula Young.  They were fairly cheap and do not look bad.  I get lots of compliments when I wear them.  You might think about getting one if it bothers you a lot.

Spent the morning with the Computer Connections group moving recyclable computers out of the basement.  Eleven pallets worth should keep us busy for a few Saturday mornings.  Worked up a bit of a sweat.
