Hello everyone

I have been having problems.  Can you believe I think my band is too tight.  I'm not sure.  I tried to eat a bagel yesterday...I know bad idea.  Well ever since my stomach has been upset.  I don't think I'm stuck because fluid is going down and I'm not in pain.  I wonder if I irritated my pouch or stoma with that bagel.  I am going to see if it gets better through the day.  I am hoping it gets better because I don't want to get an unfill (I have been waiting for restriction forever).  But, since yesterday I can't eat without discomfort.  Last night I tried to eat a little cheese for dinner and I started to burp it back up.  So I really didn't eat dinner last night.  Lunch was the same thing.  Water stays down most of the time but sometimes I burp that up too.  Even my own saliva comes back up sometimes.  I'm drinking Atkins protein drink right now and so far it's staying down.  But I have to drink little sips at a time and wait a minute or two before I drink more.  I know it sounds like I need an unfil but I was so happy with my restriction.  See this is what I hate about the band...

Sorry to complain.  Have a nice day everyone.

edit-  I am still trying to finish my protein drink.  I don't think I can fini****  There is more than half left.  I guess I have to face the fact that I need to call my doctor.

Sounds like a good weekend coming! Fill us in on what happens at the "psych" appointment for WLS. Mine is next week and I'm not sure how it will go or exactly what he'll be looking for.

Good Morning Crystal & Illinois!

I'm sending you good vibes for relief. Have you tried papaya enzyme pills or meat tenderizer? I heard that works wonders. Hopefully you'll be able to get something down soon.

I'm watching the news and the earthquake in Haiti has be numb. Please keep them in your prayers.

Today will be a lazy day for me. I'm so tired of cleaning up behind my sick dog. He's ******g EVERYWHERE and I've resorted to putting him in the cage. Since the issue is with his kidneys, I have to take him out every hour or so for water and bathroom breaks. He goes back to the vet next Wednesday for more blood work.

Speaking of blood work, I have to go to my PCP to pick up my lab results tomorrow. I'm going to enter the info into a spreadsheet so that I can be aware of any negative trends.

On that note, I'm going to take my vitamins with a protein shake.

Have a GREAT day Illinois!

What a great idea to enter your numbers into a spread sheet. (Note to self: Learn Excel.)

Good morning everyone.

Sorry to hear about the band being too tight!  I can imagine its hard to have to admit needing to have it decreased, but maybe by decreasing it just a tiny bit will make all the difference!  Just be sure to keep trying your liquids until you see the doc.  Dehydration is noones friend.

I am having some non-weight related issues.  It's that time of month and I have developed 3 hard lumps in my armpit (sorry if TMI).  I have one on the left side the size of a soybean that's red, hard, and warm.  The right side is the worst though, I have one that is pea size, hard, red, warm and then a very large one with the diameter the size of a quarter, it is hard, red and soooo painful that it hurts to lift my arm up to reach into cabinets or even get dressed.  My right breast is also painful.  So I'm calling my pcp this morning after I get the kiddies to school.  I think it's just possibly infected lymph nodes.  It seems like these days I'm always getting one infection or the other.  I thank my immuno-suppressing medications for that jewel.

Hopefully I will get in to see him early today so I don't need to miss work, I'm already off tomorrow to go to see the Nurse Practicioner and NUT to start my journey to RNY.  And there is NO WAY I'm missing that appointment!!

Well I hope that everyone has a good thursday, enjoy the warming trend!

Good Morning Everyone.

Wasn't yesterday wonderful? I was only able to enjoy it for a few minutes, so I am hoping for a repeat.

I didn't get the car washed yesterday, so that is on my agenda today. Tomorrow at the latest. I am also going to do some housework this morning.

Crystal, I am sorry you ae having issues with the band. I think what you are having is fairly normal. I got a fill on Dec 28th and have been having the same issues. Try to get down something warm. If nothing else it might just bring it up. Now yesterday, my dinner stayed down, but my lunch didn't. Who knows what will happen today.

Have a great day, stay safe, stay warm, stay dry.

Huggers,

Good morning Crystal and IL

So sorry you are having an issue.  I agree with Lisa, try some warm liquids for the day and see how that goes.  I had my second fill yesterday.  I can tell it right now...not too tight, just a restrictive feeling I didn't have so much before.  I have 5.4 cc in my 11 cc realize band.

Not much going on today.  I also didn't make it to the car wash, so maybe tonight, although I have an appt at 4:30, so we'll see!
Enjoying the "heat wave" and no big plans for the weekend.  FINAL undecorating of house.  (Really just need to take the tree down and put away.)  It's sitting pathetically in my living room whining oh so softly "take me down".

Have a great day!

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

Crystal---I hear warm liquids are the way to go.  I hope it loosens up on its own.  I know that you have been looking forward to restriction.  Take it slow and easy.

I am working today, then I have my middle schooler's theater group tonight.  It will be fun because we have a special presentation on improv.

This site is still giving me fits, I barely got the first sentence typed bef

Tell someone that you love them!

Hi Crystal and Illinois Buddies!

Ouch, Crystal and Lisa, I'm sorry for your band troubles! How miserable. It sounds like how I felt when I had the stricture, you just never know what's going to happen when you try to eat!

I hope your doctor can help, Crystal and that you don't lose the restriction you finally have.  Have you talked with Paul at all?  I remember he's had some of the same experiences, maybe he can give you some suggestions?

I'm excited about this lovely day!  I have my personal training session at 10, then this afternoon, I get to join my daughter's class to read a story.  She is the "student of the week" and will be presenting pictures and stories about her (short) life and favorite things.  I'm glad she's still young enough to be excited that Mom is coming to her school.  Hopefully, by the time she's old enough to care, she won't be embarrased about my size because I'll be somewhat smaller!

On that note, I've been a little down because the scale hasn't moved at all this week, so I asked my husband to measure me. We hadn't done so since my 1 month mark.  Well, today is my 3 month mark, and I've lost approx.  39 inches from arms, thighs, chest, waist, hips since surgery.  Oh my!  That brightened my spirits!

Have a great day everyone.  Good-luck to those of you having doctor/NP appointments today, the journey to surgery may seem long and frustrating at times, but it is so worth it!

Stephanie
