Shawn, The chances are that you will be spending the night. The Dr. s prefer it. And yes BCBS Ill. does allow for it.

Hi Shawn,

I have BCBSIL/PPO and overnight stay. My Doctor requried it, and it's really a good idea! You need a little rest on your own before you head home!

Lap Band on 11/30/09

I have out of state BCBS and they approved me for outpatient lapband surgery. I was able to stay overnight. I think the outpatient time period in the hospital is 24 hours.
