Low-carb "cracker": Review

I'm sure many of you carb-watchers know about these yummy snacks, but just in case.

Target, under its Archer Farms brand, sells flavored cheese "straws." They are in the cracker section and I think they are yummy.

They are made of cheese, so they are low-carb and a good source of protein, plus I can take them when I am headed out the door, in my usual hurry. The one I am eating now is "Asiago Parmesan" and they are hearty-tasting and savory. Its label says:

8 straws (each is much bigger and thicker than a cracker)
9g carbs
6g protein
160 calories
90 cals from fat
10g of fat
0 sugar

By comparison, my beloved Triscuits has 19g of carbs and only 3g of protein for just 6 crackers. PLUS, I find I need to eat something WITH my Triscuits like cheese or cream cheese and chutney!

The best part? At $3, these cheese crisps are waaay cheaper than the tiny pack of cheese crisps from Whole Foods.

Enjoy!

my favorite cracker is at Sams Club.  Called Crunchmaster, certified gluten free.....Multi-grain....100% whole grain....Low sodium cholesterol free......Has brown rice, sesame seeds in then and contains 200 mg of Omega-3 in a serving.......
Nut Facts.........
Serving size... 15 crackers

total fat............5g

total carb.........20
fiber..................2
sugars.............0
protein.............3

Has the best crunch almost like a chip.... they are a bit pricey though my area they are $6.87 a box but they have 2-10oz bags at 19 servings a bag........

I love them with hummus or the greek plain yogurt with the hidden valley ranch added....or can be topped like you would any cracker..peanut butter is real good with the sesame taste of the cracker!
I usually count out the 15 the divide that up into 3 servings of 5 each then my hummus  or yogurt dip and it satisfies my snacking craving!
you can see more info on these at....................................

Wow. This is such good info. (Newbie talking:) How do you keep track of all these good ideas? Do you create you own personal archive somewhere/somehow? I keep seeing neat ideas, but know these new facts will fly out of my memory before too long. How do you manage your "favorites" (products, recipes, etc.)?

When I find a good food that works and is on my program I keep the nutrition label! I then put that item on the top of my shopping list weekly! I keep a list right here by my computer with my favorites on it. I also do lots of research when I'm not on facebook! The crackers I mentioned are also good with cottage cheese. I use it as a dip, that way its another protein! Use you imagination, take what you can have and turn it into your favorite by adding different foods, experiment!
After all all new recipes started somewhere, right?
