Kane Center Procedure?

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year. 

I am Cynthia near Joliet IL, and I am planning to get banded hopefully within a few months.  Ten years ago I got an RNY and I've slowly regained 50 lbs of the 120 I lost.   :(  I seemed to have it all under control for about 7 years, then started the bad habits again.

Anyway, I am hoping someone can tell me what to expect from the Kane Center.  This week I started my 90 day pre-op weight management program and I saw Dr. Kane, Jr for a follow-up visit (my annual since RNY) and inquired about lap band.    Dr. Kane stated his team would be contacting me soon.   So I guess I'm wondering how it will all unfold from here.  I didn't think to ask him that because I was so happy he stated we could go forward with the lap band revision.   I scheduled myself and saw the weight management team on my own, and informed him I'd done so.   So I guess I'm wondering if the "team" will be contacting me for tests, etc?   How does all this work?   Everything is done differently than 10 yrs ago, of course.  :-)

My bmi is 40.3 and my blood pressure was a bit high (139/82).   I have no other issues that I am aware of.  So hopefully insurance will approve.

I had lapband with Dr. Guske of the Kane Center a little over 2 years ago. I have nothing but praise for them.

You need to go to an informational meeting first, and set up an appointment to go over what you sent. and then submit all the paperwork that they want. FYI, they will not accept it faxed or emailed, just sent through the mail. Next comes a visit with the Dr,
Then they will submit your info to your insurance, andthey will find out what your insurance requires.

you will have to see a lung dr, a phych, and cardio guy. Plus, see the dietitan.

The time and wait goes fast, and before you know it, you will join the lapbanders.

I'm a little backwards because I have already seen and discussed my wishes with Dr. Kane, prior to attending an informational meeting, which he didn't even mention.  I'll see what happens and just follow directions.
