Shawn, if you mean as at the same bariatric practice - no. Dr Rosen is with Life Weigh Bariatrics and he does his surgery at Good Sam in Downers. Life Weigh has only one other doctor and his name is  Dr. Allen Mikhail.  Dr Klem I do believe practices at Central DuPage with The Bariatric Center.

you're right, i knew i saw his name somewhere and it was at the seminar at Good Sam but i ended up not going to that one.

I guess that depends upon the surgeon.

I had my duodenal switch in San Francisco two years ago because I wanted John Rabkin to do mine. He comes to Chicago about 8 times a year for our monthly support group meetings and one of his staff (program director or psychologist) do the other 4 or so  meetings.

We have people 9 days to 9 years out from their DSes in our group. It's a great opportunity to share info. Some of the "old-timers" have been inspired and re-invigorated by the newbies' enthusiasm. And naturally, the seasoned vets are great for sharing their experiences. And then we get to pepper the surgeon with our particular questions, so it's great!

Also, he has our PCPs draw our labs and he gets copies. Then we got over our labs with him or one of his PAs on the phone. This personal service costs $30 a year. No biggie. I more than get my money's worth from this! I think other surgeons should consider this kind of service.

Welcome!  Glad you found the IL Board.  You just joined by taking the first step to a healthier you.  I trust you will find this board very helpful and supportive.  Ask questions, give support and enjoy the journey.  Someone posts the daily roll call each morning so please...  introduce yourself and tell us a little about yourself, where your at in the process etc.  Our family (IL Board) goes beyond just weight loss.  We are all here to support with any challenges you may be facing in your life. 

I must say this.. Take what you like and leave the rest.  Some people you may click with and others you may not.  We do not care for much drama or negativity.
