Good Morning Illinois,

Looking forward to seeing some of you Friday but so far no positive responses from folks here.

I have three cases of water so no one will dehydrate and a lot of dips and crackers and other things.  I was wondering what might be good for those who cannot tolerate fat or deli meats.  Planning on deviling about a dozen eggs.

The conversations though are planned to be the main entree though and hopefully the weather will cooperate so the others from whom RSVPs are trickling in will be safe.

Randy

So you have been forgiven?

Good Morning.

It is 6:40 a.m. and still very dark. I do not like winter mornings!

Yesterday morning I went for labs. Not bad, but they took 9 vials of blood. I was wondering if they were ever going to stop.

Today and tomorrow  I will be working, Its been a quiet week. I am sure it will get busy after the 1st,

Happy New Year. If you are goinf out partying tomorrow night,  be responsible. Stay safe, warm and dry. My plans are to go to dinner and come home and crash. DH will probly be in bed by 9.

Good morning folks!

I am going out to breakfast this morning with friends and then off to knit. I'll be enjoying getting to the end of a sweater which seems like it has taken forever (three weeks)! Aren't we compulsive people questionable judges of "how long" and "how much"? I know measureing my food has taught me a lot about servings and I certainly have misjudged how long things take too. Like cleaning out the garage will take the rest of my life?? Yeah, right! I've learned it takes about an hour.

Have a great day and join me in seeing things as they are!

Connie

Good morning Randy and the rest of Illinois!

I am working today and taking the kids to the museum for their shifts this afternoon.

I took Liv to the ENT doctor in Madison yesterday and the news was upsetting to her.  She has negative pressure in both ears with fluid build up in the right side.  This is causing significant hearing loss.  She has already had about 8 sets of tubes and we were hoping not to have another set installed.  She was suppossed to be doing some things to medically manage the problems, but has not been compliant.  The doctor "scared her straight", I think and Liv will now do all the things she should be doing to avoid another surgery.

Liv was pretty upset because she thought this would be something she had/would grow out of, but it seems that is not her fate.  This may be something that she will be dealing with for most of her life.  Oh the drama of a 13 year old!

We are having our usual get together with neighbors, family & friends at our house tomorrow night and I think we are going to do the "Good Riddance 2009" shredding ceremony like they did in Times Square on Monday.

Everyone have a lovely day!

My brother dealt with the same issues that your daughter seems to be facing.  He always had ear infections, hearing loss caused by fluid and infections and multiple tubes, sometimes in the same year.  When he was older like your daughter, they put a different type of tube in.  It stayed in longer than the others.  One fell out naturally and the other had to be removed.  Unfortunately, it left a hole in the eardrum and he had surgery to fix that with skin taken from his hip.  He did grow out of it.  He hasn't had many, if any at all, ear infections as an adult.  It does get better.  Now me-never had an ear infection in my life!  lol

Good Morning Randy and Illinois!

I work today and then off until Sunday!  yeah.  Having a couple of friends over for dinner NYE (along with Chloe).  We will visit and play some games.  Will again miss my sister because she was always part of the activities (and a 4th hand for our card games!).  One of our little group traditions is that every NYE for many years, we have each written our own separate NY Resolutions and sealed them in a envelope.  Then we open them on NYE and revise/add to them.  Each person just looks at their own, but we share triumphs/concerns.  This year I will have a triumph because I ALWAYS have a resolution about losing weight!  ANd it will be interesting to record where I am this year and see where I am next!

Best wishes and Blessings to all of you for a wonderful and very Happy New Year!

Good evening IL

I've had a better eating day than I've had in few days.  I have recorded everything.  It feels good to take control of myself and what I'm doing.

I was at work for a little bit today doing a deposit and cleaning/organizing the book closet at school.

I have no plans for NYE.  Staying home, cracking open a bottle of wine, and watching movies.  Sounds good to me!

Dear Sue:

Thanks for the encouragement for Liv, hopeflly she WILL grow out of it eventually.

Also----recording your intake is a great way to take control, and that is the KEY to this whole process.  Good for you and keep up the great work!
