I am 4 months out and have lost 75 pounds. I have had a pain when I eat for 3 months now, I have been back to surgeon and had a upper GI. Upper GI was fine, January 4th I go for a scope. The weirdest thing has started happening the last 3 days. When I eat I still get the pain, but then after I eat I get a rumbling feeling, almost like my stomach is growling. It also has been happening through out the day, feel like I'm starving. I'm eating enough. I'm getting worried my stoma is stretched? Any input? Any advice appreciated.

I am now 5 months post op and I STILL experience this. My new "full" feeling is more of a pressure / cramping feeling vs. the normal full feeling before WLS. I also get the gurgling / growling feeling after I eat. You have to remember, your new pouch can take 6 months + to start really "working". It knows it needs to contract to move the food but doesn't really start working more efficiently for quiet a while. You also dont have the stomach acid to help digest the food partially before it enters the small intestine so that contributes to the gurgling as well.

Atleast, this is what my surgeon and nutritionist both told me when I explained my symptoms to them.

I am experiancing much the same thing,  I think a lot of my gutgling and growling comes from the large part of my stomach which even though it will have no food except rhrough the blood still knows I just ate so it does it's thing.  I do not interpret that as hunger though.

So you have been forgiven?

  Hi

My stomach can really play a symphony some days.  I just laugh when it gets really noisy.  I am 20 months out and just consider it the new me.

I have also found that if I rush my eating, I am more uncomfortable.  I only have a half hour for lunches so I really have to pay attention to make sure I chew well and take it slow.  Otherwise, I am really sorry.

Congrats on the 75 pound loss!
