Revision on 04/19/13
Good Morning Illinois.
This is the last weekend before Christmas, and the last night of Hanukkah. The menorah always looks so festive when the whole thing is ablaze with candles. My youngest daughter and her significant other sent a Hanukkah bouquet of carnations yesterday to me. I was really surprized.
I think it is still snowing a bit. We got and inch durning the night.
Today, I am finishing my kitchen clean up and finishing some cookies, With that. all of our Xmas preparations are done. How are you all doing?
By the way, if I am comfusing anyone, I am Jewish and my husband is not. We celebrate most all holidays. The only one confused with this is our DGD. But she is finally understanding it, I hope.
Have a great Saturday, take some time for yourself.
Stay safe, stay warm.
Hugs,
Lisa

Hello everyone
I didn't realize that you are Jewish...Happy Hanukkah. I don't believe in Happy Holidays. It takes the religion out of the holiday. I like Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah. Do you do anything special on the last day of Hanukkah?
I am wrapping presents today and cleaning the house. I will be staying in. I am tired of braving the cold, snowy weather. So if I don't have to I am not going out. I really would hibernate like a bear for the winter if I could. Funny how pretty the snow looks when you don't have to drive in it...hahaha.
My daughter is coming home Tuesday. I can't wait.
Have a nice weekend everyone. Stay warm.

Funny how various words take on funny meanings.
Religion is one of those. I say I try not to be religious yet nothing would have please me more over these holidays than to sit in on candle lightings, going to Christmas program at Willow ( which is planned for this evening ) and doing something for Kwanzaa as the year ends. As a Christian I enjoy the same heritage as those in the Islamic and Jewish faiths up to some points in the past so I thrill at the worship of the miracle of the lamp and the faith of Abrahem while celebrating a virgin birth. I also believe if someone seeks God in earnest He will find them. I think I will do without the cookie baking rituals this year.
