Good morning IL friends.

Just a slight dusting of snow but slick.

Busy day - early hospital meeting, therapy and I need to get my splint adjusted again. It is painful when I am wearing it. so now i am wearing a half of it with an ace bandage.

Hope everyone is well.

Take care and be careful.

Hugs
Lucy

Good morning Lucy and Illinois,

I am on my way out the door, but wanted to stop by here.  Today is a work day, and my DH's 44th birthday.  We will celebrate tonight by going out to dinner, and I am making him a cake.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning Lucy and Illinois,

This is already starting out to be not a nice Monday. The coffee pot headed south, we have ablout 1 inch of that 4 letter word, and I woke up at 4. Which even for me is extra early.

Anyway, I am done venting.

Lucy, I really hope your wrist gets better. Can you take the slint off and just wrap it in a ace bandage?

I did get some cookies baked yesterday, I am hoping to finish on Saturday. There is only 2 weekends left to  Christmas.

Heading for work a few minutes early today. Hoping for a quiet day.

Stay safe and warm.

Hugs,
 LISA

Good morning Lucy and Illinois Friends!

Lucy  I sure hope you get your splint off soon.  It seems like forever to me and I am sure two times as long to me.  Dee, it is good to see you posting again.  Lisa I hate Mondays or any other day that starts out like yours did.  Makes me wnt to go back to bed. I dont like what is predicted for snow this week.

As for me I get to go home today!  I can't wait to sleep in my own bed or snuggle my kitties.    Have a great day.

Good morning Lucy and Illinois!

Lucy-hopefully your splint will be off soon.
Dee-good to "see" you
Lisa-I hate those kinds of days when everything goes wrong
Nancy-glad your going home today. It will be a good day to snuggle with the kitties!

We had our cookie party on Saturday and the kids had a blast! They did a great job decorating their cookies and eating the decorations! I think we may do this again next year!

Laundry on the agenda today.
Have a great day! Drive safely!

Good morning Lucy and the rest of Illinois!

I am back at work this morning and feeling MUCH better.  I hope I have turned a corner.

I had to run back up to Madison on Friday as the pain and swelling had become unbearable at 4 am.  When I got back up at 7 am, the pain had lessened and it seemed that something had drained.  Turns out that there is some kind of gland that is known to fill up with fluid and cause excruciating pain.  Go figure....I had to have that happen.  Anyway, it drained and I now feel MUCH better.  If it begins to fill up again, I am not supposed to "tough it out" for so long, I am to call them right away and they can help.  So far, so good and I am thinking positively that I am done with pain.

We had a nice weekend.  It was Todd's birthday and also our friend from Cameroon.  She came out for dinner and dancing downtown.  No one else in the tap was interested in the band that was playing, so we had our own private party!  We had a group of about 10.  It was a blast!

Now that we are done with Todd's birthday, I can get going on Christmas.  We are trying to stick to the 1 present rule this year and we still have to come up with our project.  I have a few ideas on the project, so we will see.

I am thinking of you all, and really hoping that there is some relief for Lucy and glad to see that Nancy gets to go home.

Have a splendid day!

Good morning Lucy and gang...

I am on the "day before surgery" clear liquids. I know is sounds funny but the broth tastes so good. It has some flavor. The fruit and steamed veggies I have been eating for nearly two weeks were so bland.

I will get the phone call today for what time to report to the hospital in the morning. I hope it is early. I know I won't sleep well in anticipation.

Make room for me on the loser's bench. I will be joining you VERY soon!

Hello Lucy and Illinois Buddies!

Emily saw the snow outside this morning and bellowed "Hooray" and did a crazy "snow" dance!  That started my day with a smile!

I'm on-call today, but Mondays are notorious for getting called in, so I have to be ready to go at any time.  I really couldn't afford to be off today, but I couldn't resist the opportunity, I have so much to do at home.

I had my 3rd endoscopy last week, and I'm feeling so much better.  I've been able to eat small amounts of regular food rather than just purees.  Last night was a treat, we went to Outback.  Steve ordered something I could share, and I ate a few bites of thinly sliced sirloin, and steamed vegetables.  Everything went down fine!   I'm such a cheap date now.

Lucy, I hope your wrist keeps feeling better each day. Be careful driving, it's nasty around here.

Lisa, I hope that the rest of your day goes better than this am.  It sounds like your coffee pot felt a little insecure around the sparkling new furniture!

Nancy, is your pain under better control?  I'm glad you get to go home!  Kitty love and purrs are so much better for healing the knee and the spirit!

Carol, your cookie party sounded fun.  I spent yesterday afternoon with 23  six year old Daisy scouts making cookies, crafts and taking them to a local nursing home.  They had a blast, we leaders were exhausted.

Dawn, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better.  Here's hoping you don't experience any more complications!

Have a great day everyone!

Stephanie
