Sunday Roll Call

We will be on our way home soon after 8am this morning. We are supposed to get some rain up here in the Dells and Madison area so we want to get on the road ASAP.

After we get home and unpack we will take the rental car back and then stop at Blick Art to see if I can get my two neices some painting supplies that are geared to young girls. After that to start the laundry and get ready to back to work on Monday, yuck.

Hello everyone

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  My weekend was way too short.  It seemed to go so fast. 

My daughter and I had some good mother-daughter time.  The only consolation is that I will see her again in 3 weeks.  The holidays go by so fast.  She is so stressed out right now.  She has finals, projects and a research proposal all due soon.  So she did spend time studying. 

We went out shopping a couple of times.  Though my Christmas shopping is done I still went out to get things.

Sunday Morning greetings Christine B and Illinois

Thunder has been rumbling around here this morning.

I am having a bad non scale doober.  Pain in my left shoulder as I usually lay on it most of the night and it is getting short on padding.

Have a safe drive home Christine.  It's so hard to come back to reality! 

Crystal, my daughter is only 6, but I can imagine how hard it will be when she's in college and I only get to see her sporadically.  I don't look forward to it!  I hope the three weeks go by quickly for you.

Randy, hope your shoulder feels better soon.  Do you have a small pillow you could use for cushioning when you sleep?  It might help replace some of the lost padding. 

We are going out to St. Charles today to celebrate my step-dad's birthday.  I'm making a nice chicken sausage corn chowder that he absolutely loves!  I should even be able to eat a little.

Hi everyone - watching the Bears game right now and recovering from my surgery last Monday.  I have been doing pretty good - but I am having trouble eating mostly everything.  I was pretty nauseous until Friday, but that is better.  I do not have too much pain - just on the left upper part - where i was told they do most of the work. 

I am definitely having trouble getting all of my fluids in and the Effor K that I have to take has not been going down real well.  I am worried about getting dehydrated and my potassium being too low.  My vitamin gets stuck and hurts for about an hour..  I honestly wish I could find something to eat that tastes good and/or goes down without hurting. 

I know this will get better, but it is definitely hard right now.  I see what everyone says about your tastes changing because nothing tastes good and everything that I thought would work - does not (cottage cheese, yogurt)  One day something works and the next day - the exact same thing does not work...This is definitely a crazy ride...

Can you get your medication in a liquid form for a while?  Is it possible to break it?

I am over 3 years out and I still stick to the "mo bigger than a pencil eraser" rule for pills.  I hold capsules in my mouth until they begin to get soft and use chewables whenever possible.

Hi Stephanie, I'm a lurker but I check in everyday.  Your chicken sausage corn chowder sounds so good, could you please post your recipe?  We used to sell our crafts at shows in the Old Piano Factory, is it still  there? It had some nice shops and a very good bakery .   Norma
