medicaid and psych evaluation

I live where there are more farm animals then people, so when I called the medicaid help find a provider there was not ONE less than 5 hours away who accepts it.............so the couple I work for are willing to pay for one for me, (they are very supportive of the surgery)........after 3weeks of calling I was able to get an answer from the medicaid office............would they still pay for the surgery, if the expense for the psych evaluation was paid for out of pocket...........................the man told me that as long as it is done by a liscensed psychiatrist that it will not hinder the decision..................anyone else have any problems like mine??????????????/
