Take a deep breath.  Stalls are VERY normal.  I have had many.  Some lasted a few days and some lasted weeks and a couple lasted several months.  It is your body's way of catching up and taking a breather.  Just try to go with the flow.  Weigh yourself only once a week so you don't freak out too much.  Hang in there, the weight will start dropping again.  I promise.

Dear Kelly:
Stalls are VERY normal and the first one usually happens at 3-6 weeks out.  So really, you are ahead of the game.  There is NOTHING you can do to prevent them.  Your body needs to take a rest occasionally.
The only advise is to keep on eating as you should.  Do not stray from the "program".  Your body will see that this new way of life is permanent and you will start losing again.

Like Nancy says.......BREATHE!

Tell someone that you love them!

Hi Kelly,

I just wanted to say WOW, 8-12 lbs a week!   I'll bet your body needed a break to catch up and get used to things. I've been losing at a rate of 5 lbs a week or so.  I had a stall at 3 weeks out that lasted for two weeks.  I was expecting it but it was still surpising because, as you know, I was eating maybe 400-500 cal a day.

Are you still having so much difficulty eating soft foods?  I'm doing a little better as long as I take teeny bites and chew like crazy.  I have my 3rd endoscopy scheduled for next Tuesday.

I hope the stall ends soon for you!

Stephanie
