Well the ride begins

Hello Illinois,

I've been lurking since the first time I posted introducing myself. I finished my 3 months of diet supervision with my regular doctor two weeks ago.  I just followed up with my surgeons office and found out the paperwork has been faxed to BCBS today.  So the rollercoaster ride begins.  I'm going to be on pins and needles until I found out that I am approved.  I'm thinking positively.  One step at a time right?  I can't help to wonder what happens once the approval is received and a surgery date is scheduled.

I am glad to hear that the supervised diet is over and you have been submitted.  The waiting really IS the hardest part of this.

Glad to hear you have gotten this far.   I would say call your IPA to make sure they acknowledge to you reciept of the docs fax.

We have the same Dr. their office is REALLY great about staying on top of things. Good lucky to you and may you get a date. I know the dr goes on vacation the last week in dec.
they are also really good if you call and ask for an update. I even called the insurance company :)

Thanks Everyone! I have taken you advice and called BCBS to follow up, of course this morning they said they haven't received anything.  But they don't realize I don't mind calling tomorrow :)  I don't doubt the doctor faxed the paperwork in.  I"ll keep you posted!

I'm hoping for a date in January, what a way to start the new year!  Also, I'll have enough time in December to change my flexible spending account once I know I am approved.  :)
