Thursday Roll Call
Good Morning Illinois,
7 days until Thanksgiving and the official start to the Holiday season. There are already lights up at some houses in town. I want to do ours this weekend. How are your holidays coming along?
I have to work today as always, but I am in town today, so I don't have to leave until 10 to 8 .
My weekend will be busy. I must clean house in order to get it ready for company on Tues.
I hope everyone has a great day, stay dry and warm.

I decided to take a vaca day today to tie into our away time to the Dells starting tomorrow. I will finish the rest of our packing, laundry and then tonight we will go to Elgin to visit my brother and his wife. Karen every year has a holiday open house/craft fair in her home. She is a big crafter and she teams with other ladies and has a fair every year on this weekend. I have missed it the last five years with us being away in the Dells.

Good morning Illinois!
Lisa, I had a big epiphany this week....Thanksgiving is NEXT Thurs. For some reason I was thinking I had another week. YIKES! Our yard is always closed on Friday after Tgiving, so that is always nice to have that day to go Black Friday shopping and start Christmas decorations.
I have an incentive to get my house decorated ASAP after Tgiving, because the 2nd Thurs of Dec I always host a party of former bank co-workers. It's a great time, but gotta have the treee up and house decorated. I'm thinking with my recent surgery, I can get away with begging for help from my dinner attendees to help me get the tree put up, and decorations hauled in....you know I'm not suppposed to LIFT! LOL Hope that works for me!!
Christine, have a super weekend. HOpe your foot is doing better.
Hope we hear from Kathy soon. Thinking about those having surgery over the next week.

Good morning everyone!
I want to thank everyone for the well wishes on my surgery!! You're all so encouraging!
I'm still pretty sore - mostly from the repair of my umbilical hernia. I only feel discomfort from the other incisions. So, I am taking the pain medication Dr. Lahmann prescribed because they really do help me move around easier. Had to sleep on the couch last night as I couldn't get comfy in my bed. Still on liquids until tomorrow too.
Thanks to Sheri and Deanna for coming by and visiting me. I know I kept falling asleep, but I was glad you both were there! :) Deanna, it was nice to finally meet you. Maybe I'll get to meet some of the other BMI patients next month at the support group.
I'm going to try and keep moving today and do more on my own. My poor husband has been great but I know he's also tired. I'll try to check in later sometime. Have a great day everyone!

Not much going on today. I'm going to my aunt's home to make meatballs for her daughter's surprise party tomorrow. She has carpel tunnel and her hands are really hurting. My DH is on vacation today and tomorrow. I think we will be going to the movies tomorrow. I want to see 2012, Precious and Blind Side.

It has been a busy week for me and it continues. This weekend I have a show at the Dupage Expo center so I need to set up tomorrow afternoon and then get back home so I can drop off my oversized clothing at Centegra for the sale on Saturday. It's a great sale! All clothing is $1 each! I know that most of the stuff I'm donating is less than a year old and hardly ever worn. After the weekend is over, I start the mad rush to shop and cook for Thanksgiving! I am doing a turkey, ham, stuffing and 3 pies! I've assigned off the veggie, sweet potatoes, and appatizers. I went to all my doctors yesterday and got a clean bill of health from all! Now it is the slow process of loosing that last 10 pounds I've been after for several months. Have a great weekend! Come out to the craft show if you get a chance!

Sounds like the economy may be getting a stimulus from our members shopping, traveling and going out for entertainment. A quick tally of my last years cost to our insurance company for me to lose weight and be healthy is currently at $84,000.00. That must be a pretty good kick in some folks pockets.
The scale at my house is moving down again. I hope the one at my surgeons office shows a good number tomorrow.
We went to a class on small groups at Willow last night and then had our first meal out since my surgery. We were at Chillis. We split a sirloin meal. Asked for water out of habit and then caught myself and said just for Sherry. First glass was dirty and our knives were both dirty. Server went though several packs to find clean knives. Wanted to leave but did not. Server was trying to do his job but I guess too young to have learned to listen well and pay attention to detail. Decide his efforts were still worth a full tip but $3 looked pretty small.

Kathy, I am glad you are home. Christine, baby that foot or you will regret it with more time in that @#$% boot! LOL That is the voice of experience talking.
Well, I thought life could not get any more dramatic yesterday morning but it did. I found out my dentist was not putting in my crowns permanently so when I called my surgeon, I was told I could not have my surgery until my dental work was totally finished. So I had to cancel my knee surgery. I spent the day really bummed out to say the least.
Well last night the dentist calls and when he found out I had cancelled the surgery he tells me that he can put the crowns in permanently.
They do not have to be put in temporarily. He says he must have missed it when I state all work had to be completed before my surgery. 
So this morning, I called the surgeons office to see if they had booked my space. Thank god they had not. Nor had they cancelled my pre op tests for today so everything is a "go" again.
So after telling work that I would not need time off today, I had to call them this morning to tell them I do need time off today.
I definitely need to either take up drinking or smoking soon. 
I am soooooo looking forward to some time off to try an relax, and take a deep breath.
If anyone wants some excitement, they can come join me in my life right now. I guarantee it will not be boring.
