Crystal,

Through all my reading on the boards, I have noticed that it is totally normal to have a stall at 3-5 weeks out from surgery.

My supervisor is 3 weeks further out than I.  She just broke her stall.  I am almost 4 weeks out, haven't lost any weight for the past week.

So, it sounds like your body is right on track.  It is taking a little time to regroup and get used to what you are feeding it now, and how much weight you've already dropped.

Cheers (raising a glass of Crystal Light)!

HI everybody,

Feeling a little bit better but still feel uncomfortable sitting at my desk. It feels like I am placing too much pressure on my wounds so I will keep this nice and short. For the upcoming surgeries, I will pray for a quick and uneventful surgery. The best piece of advice that I have gotten is that " it will get better everyday". I have seen a huge improvement in my pain over the last few days and now I just find myself dealing with the gas. The Gas is the devil.......

Another great reason I had open gastric bypass.. NO gas problems.

Omar, I'm really glad that you're starting to feel better and I do hope the gas improves!  :)  Take care of yourself!!

I've had a busy day.. laundry, cleaning, working in yard.  Worked out at 10a w/ my trainer.  I'm so excited, the scale for the first time in a really long time is starting to move in the right direction.  I almost want to cry.
I stopped by and had my mammogram done at 2 and now I'm back home.  Need to shower and get ready for work shortly.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Hello everyone!!

I'm on day 7 of the pre-op diet and things are just moving along.  Once I started to feel my energy come back, things started to turn around.  I'm finding the shakes a nice relief from jello and absolutely LOVE my chicken and broccoli at night!!  I know that I can get through this next week much easier than the first and before I know it I'll be planning to go to the hospital.  I'm hoping to get in a good walk before I go to bed tonight, as long as the weather stays good.

Have a great night everyone!!

Good evening everyone....

Omar glad to hear you are feeling a little better everday. Here's to a speedy recovery!

Kathy....I am not looking forward to the pre-op diet at all. Everyone does say it gets better though. Mine is going to require a whole new kind of willpower as I will be going through Christmas and New Years during my pre-op!!!! Yikes....chicken and broccoli...for Christmas dinner....sure! I am sure it will be fine. Can't wait!

My mind has been so distracted this year....first with trying to get approved and then will being approved and now waiting for surgery...I hope 2010 is a better year and I have more focus.

Hi Erika!

It has been tough on the pre-op diet, but it has gotten easier.  I think the toughest part has been on my family those first few days...oh, and one of my pans was almost a casualty too.  :)  My favorite has always been chicken, but I can't stomach most veggies except broccoli...so, although my dinner is the same almost everday, I can deal with it, because it's better than drinking a shake!!  For Thanksgiving this year, it will most likely be pureed turkey...yum!!  All I can tell you is...if you get through those first three to four days, you'll be just fine.  Here I am...seven days out and I can't believe how quickly it's gone.  I am sure you will be fine on it and if you ever get hungry just grab some more water...that's what saves you some days.
