Monday Roll Call

I was shocked to find that nobody started the call ealier.  This was a very busy weekend between Nic having 2 make up soccer games and Meredith's 3rd birthday.  We had a kid's party at McDonald's and then a family party at the house.  I had a holiday art show to work on Saturday night and then Sunday afternoon.  It wasn't a great financial success, but the organization was very nice and I met a bunch of nice people.  There was a silent auction and I was winning on a Cubs hat and then right at closing, someone out bid me by $.01!  I don't mind loosing, but that was just too stingy for a charitable cause in my book!  Then they had the nerve to try and justify it by saying they were buying the hat for a child!!!  This week will be filled with studing for my certification exam and trying to get to the gym on a regular basis.  So far it has been going well.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning IL!

Paul, sounds like you had a busy weekend.  I spent the weekend getting my house, fridge and ME ready for tomorrow.  This time tomorrow I should be close to getting in surgery!  I am so glad I have an early appt.

I will certainly appreciate your thoughts, prayers and well wishes for tomorrow.  Just knowing I have this dedicated group behind me helps so much.

Work today, then off until....maybe next Tues.  If I feel ok after the weekend, I may go back on Monday, but will just have to see how it goes.  I'm having a hiatial hernia repaired, too, so not sure if I'll feel much differently than if just straight lap band.

Omar, hope you are doing ok.  Haven't seen you for a few days.

Everyone else, have a super day.  I'll prbly check in toward the end of next week.  georgie

Good morning Paul and the rest of Illinois!

I am feeling better by the day and we are going to Madison today.  We are going with 2 other couples to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra and staying over at the "Governor's Club".  I am exited.  Hopefully, tomorrow when I visit the doctor, I will get the tube out.  Wish me luck.

Everyone have a spectacular day!

OH was kind of quiet this weekend, all around. I checked in and it was slooow. Guess we're all out having fun and living fantastic lives with our healthier bodies, right?

My 1st grade son had to make a puppet for a class project and it was due today. He made a marionette of Harry Potter. Glad that thing is out of our house! It had so many near-misses with our toddler, cooking, a dog, etc. that I wasn't sure it would finally make it to school in one piece. LOL.

Trying to do some toilet training today with our very reluctant child. Actually, "reluctant" is putting it kindly. So, I just try a little here and there with him. He could care less if he wears diapers in college. Oh, well. If THIS is my biggest challenge today, I am a lucky lady!

I made a couple dozen mini-meatloaves (muffin-tins) with bleu cheese in them yesterday. Had some for breakfast already! So easy and yummy and protein-packed!

Have a good day everyone!

Good morning everybody.

Paul sounds like you had a really busy weekend!

I was/am sick all weekend. I am hoping that I am better by mid week. I have training tuesday-thursday and I really do not want to be cooped up in a room with 15 people while I am coughing and blowing my nose.

I drank almost no water and ate nothing all weekend. I was feeling that bad. We did have the doors and windows open though because it was so nice out. The fresh air helped me breathe better.

I was supposed to meet up with a friend who had RNY in May on Sunday but had to cancel on her because I didnt want to get her sick. We talked on the phone though and that was nice.

I still havent lost any more weight. Ive long had a feeling that my bathroom scale lies and hates me and I stopped weighing myself every day. This is two weeks now with no weight loss. 5 weeks is a bit early to be having a stall so I must be doing something wrong. Though I am not sure what.

I meet with the dietician on the 17th so we will see what she says.

Other than that my weekend was uneventful.

I live in great fear of having done this and yet still failing at getting to a healthy weight.

I went to my surgeons office last Friday becuse I was afraid my wound was opening more than he would want and that I might have some infection or ulceration.  Ulceration is a problem for folks who have smoked and I had gotten really way too busy with cigars in the months before my surgery.  The scale there said I had gained two pounds in the last week.  I am going to attribute that to having my regular clothes on but also either the last weeks or this weeks weigh in being messed up.  Could also be male TOM or fluids from my CHF though.   Those things work out over time and I continue to lose by my home scales.

My surgeons dietician has me on meals that are basically two ounces of meat and 1/4 cup of veggies.  Only three meals.  Two snacks.  One of like cotteage cheese and one of like peaches and only like 1/4 cup of each.

You may want to call the dietician and see what help they can give you.  Also a great tool would be to put you foods in to either www.thedailyplate.com or www.fitday.com

Thank you for the info Randy.

I will check out those websites and see if they can help keep me on track. For the most part I am getting close to my protein and water requirements. thought since I have been sick it seems my stomach is smaller and I can't really get there.

I go to the dietician next Tuesday. I am hoping she will have some good advise for me.

Tuesday is a week from tommorow.  Why lose that week of your honeymoon weight loss time by something simple the dietician could help you with on the phone or by email.
