X-Post: Chicago-Area DS/VSG Support Group Meeting November 16
The next Chicago-area DS/VSG support group meeting will be held:
6:15 to 8:15 p.m. on Monday, November 16 at 211 E. Ontario, 13th floor in Chicago.*
Our special guest will be bariatric and liver transplant surgeon John Rabkin, M.D., who will give an informational session during the first hour for newbies and join the veterans for the second hour. In the info session, he quickly goes through the history of bariatric surgery and then talks about the surgeries available today--the ups, the downs, the realities of the DS, VSG, the RNY and the bands.
Newbies then have the opportunity to meet post-ops and ask them questions about their surgery and post-op lifestyle in the second hour.
NOTE: While this meeting is sponsored by Paclap, you do NOT need to be a Rabkin patient to attend this group for support. To date, we have had patients of Drs. Anthone, Kemmeter, Alverdy, Prachand and Greenbaum attend and contribute to the discussion and get support.
Feel free to bring a high-protein/low-carb snack to share, a "before" and an "after" photo to demonstrate your success and a question or two for Dr. Rabkin.
Hope you can make it! If you have any questions about this event, feel free to PM me.

*Public transportation is nearby and parking can be found in the neighborhood at meters (usually $3-4), at the open lot at the corner of Ohio and Fairbanks ($10 cash, upfront) and Northwestern Hospital (about $20, credit card at machines).
