Good morning Illinois!

I can't believe it is 8AM and no one has posted roll call.

My thoughts are with Omar today as he undergoes surgery.
Hayden's party was a lot of fun. He got a lot of new pajamas and clothes. My daughter and I bought him the same toy. Now she has the
fun job of returning one and getting something else.

Nit much on the agenda for today. What about you?

Have a great day!

Good morning Illinoisans!

What a beautiful morning this is--the paper said rain so I'll take this gift of sunshine!

I've got just one errand to do today and then I will spend most of the day knitting with friends. I just love being retired! Each day is a gift to do whatever I want. I finished all of my significant Christmas gifts yesterday--at least those that have to be mailed. Everyone is getting knit stuff this year. I have a couple of little projects to do for those extra gifts that come up at the last minute--but that kind of knitting is easy. Today I will work on a new sweater for me which is made of Peace Fleece. This yarn comes from a cooperative in which sheep farmers in Maine and in Russia combine their fleece to make yarns. I have supported this cooperative for at least 20 years!

Hoping for a better day for all of you who have been in pain.

Connie

Hi everyone,

I wanted to checkin while I had the time. Big day is here... I don't have to checkin until 1pm so I am basically in sit and wait mode at the moment. No food or drink so I find myself digging through the boards to help pass the time. Turning back the clocks really messed up my internal clock because I was wide awake at 6am today. So far so good, sometimes I think the waiting is the worst part but then I tell myself why rush into a hopsitol bed for 3 days. I hope everyone has a good one, I will chat with you guys/gals later. I hope everyone has an awesome few days just in case I don't get back here for a few days.

Thanks
Omar

Hey Omar- you have found a good place to pass the time while you wait to go to the hospital. Maybe your wife will post later to let us know you are out of surgery and on your way to recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Moving over to make room for you on the losers bench!

Good Morning Carol and Illinois Friends

I'm with you Carol.  Is everyone messed up with the time change?  You would think there would be more posts, not less.

Omar, I cant imagine having to sit around and wait until 1pm  Try to stay busy.  My thoughts are with you today.  I am sure you are ready to "get it over with" so you can begin your new life!

Well, I am looking forward to this week.  Wednesday I finally have an appointment with a neurosurgeon.  I can't wait.  I have had a continuous migraine for over a month that nothing is touching.  Yesterday, it was a doozy.  Some days are worse than others.  I know I am putting too much hope in one appointment but hopefully he has some ideas that will start taking the pressure off the spinal cord.  It is discouraging to think I am faced with this for the rest of my life.  Just my luck to be born with a spinal cord that is too narrow and now to have arthritis and bone spurs set in ......  ARGH!  Oh well.  Sigh.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everybody.

Omar, I hope everything goes smoothly for you! :) I can't wait to hear how it goes.

I worked out last night. I am still taking it easy but I did push myself a little bit. I have no pain today (and had no pain while working out). I did have a little bit of leakage from my wound but I am hoping that working out will make the darn thing close completely already! I am so tired of having a hole in my stomach. It is small enough that I cover it with a waterproof bandaid now but it's still there.

I finished my morning protein shake by 8:30 this morning! YES! I have some left over Tilapia for lunch (about 2oz) with some homeade light peso-mayo, and a yogurt for a snack. Today I feel like I have a handle on things and what I should be doing at this point. Even though I know that I don't know everything I feel comfortable with what I am supposed to be doing at this point.

I had a great weekend and feel ready for the week.

I hope you all have a great day!

Have you gotten clearance from your doctor to start working out?
You are only four weeks out from surgery, it seems a little soon.
