Sunday Roll Call
Hi Nancy. I am tired of hurting and not being able to do much. I had no trick or treaters last night,
I stayed out all morning and afternoon because I couldn't answer the door easily. Too hard for me to get in and out of the chair with my fractured wrist.
Typing is awful too.
Hope you're feeling better with your knee,
Hugs,
Lucy

Early afternoon to you kids of all ages. By the way the word "kids" is not derogatory towards anyone, in my world it is an endearment to those that I know and like/love. I know Dave and I consider ourselves kids and we are 56 & 62. Dave and I had a blast with the little kids coming yesterday to the door. We had a little busyness with 2 squads descending upon the street in front of my house at about 4ish. The one officer is a youth officer and he started going through the teen's back packs (they were no way trick or treating but were trouble makers). A few of them got village ordinance tickets and I found out later that they were setting off bottle rockets 2 streets over. The youth officer is a no nonsense officer when it comes to kids and their shenanigans. By the way the tickets were not just "slaps on the wrist tickets" as they are must appear in court tickets AND the parents need to appear with the kids.
We had very few ghoulish costumes but a lot of "teen star" & kitty Kat costumes. Lot of the boys were in "muscle man" costumes. We saw a cute little girl at the local pizzeria that was a pink poodle, so cute.
We have been to church to hear a really powerful message regarding prayer and an overview of Eph chapter three - came home from there and bought more leaf bags and then went to Wally World for a few things. I went down to Schweppes's and found out that they are now closed on Sunday's. I guess the economy ha**** the restaurant supply industry as well. Dave got the front yard cleaned up of leaves and I am just about ready to finish my minutes from my work meeting. No, I did not get to them yesterday
Davey is currently watching the Bear's game.
Looking forward to this next holiday

Lucy, so sorry to hear about your wrist. I have never broken a major bone like that - only a few toes. I cannot imagine the pain.

Hi Christine, Sounds like you had a lot of action in your neighborhood yesterday. It was so quiet here. That was good for me.
It hurts so bad. The pain meds make me a bit sleepy but the pain remains. I'm going to ask my doc friend for a prescription tomorrow. I have to see my ortho doc and have my wrist casted, It's in a partial hard cast now.
I'm not sure about working; I'll see how that goes.
Thanks for your message.
Hugs,
Lucy

Lucy, we had 59 kids which is way up more than likely because it was a Saturday. There were probably about 1/2 that amount in parents that were walking with the kids. Our local neighborhood is involved with their kids and for them Halloween is a social event for the adults also.
With you pain I can only kind of know what it is like because Dave broke his fibula in 2002 and he was in bad pain. He had a soft walking cast that he could take off from time to time but he perferred it to be on because it added positive pressure . . .

Good Afternoon to EV!!!!
Lucy, it seems things happen when I am away from my computer! I am so sorry you hurt your wrist. It will get better.
Omar, tomorrow you join the losers, it will be great to have you.
Erica, you are an adult. When Mom or anyone else tells you all the negatives, (*****ally don't know), say goodbye and hang up the phone. You don't need that. This is your decision, and you are doing this for you!!!!
We seen no little ghost or goblins last night. We were at a German restaurant feeding our faces, in Waterloo, Illinois (South and East of St. Louis, in Jefferson County). We have spent the last 3 days helping my cousin and visiting friends in St. Louis. We love to go, but love to come home.
Connie, I agree about some of the color type. Maybe if we all stay with the darker shades. it would be easier for us older ones to see. I myself will try to remember that as well, and stay in the browns and dark blue range.
I don't know if i will be on much in the next few weeks. My busy season at work starts tomorrow. Early to work, late getting home.
I did find out on Friday, that we may be getting a layoff in Jan, because of cut backs. If we do, I will collect my unemployment and hopfully get called back in the fall. If not, then I will retire.
I still have to unpack some, and grab something to eat.
Hugs, and enjoy your day
