Good morning Omar and the rest of Illinois!

Omar, I am wishing for you a safe, uneventful surgery and a quick recovery.  I am happy for you that it is almost here.

I am feeling more human today and yesterday.  I have a follow-up appointment today at 2:45, so we will see what he has to say about the lack of progress.

Besides that, I don't have anything else on my agenda.  Not even sure what is happening for Halloween.  We are invited to a get together, but it will depend on how I am feeling.

I DID hear from Mari & Cory.......You should remember them.  Cory had surgery last Spring and Mari posted for him.  She emailed me and asked that I let you know how they are doing.

Cory has been hospitalized 3 times with bleeding issues around the stoma.  He was even in ICU but he is better now and doing well.  He has lost a total of 140 pounds since his surgery weight of 489.  Mari is very proud of him and all of us for taking this step to save/change our lives.  She thinks of us ALL as heros!

They are moving to the Houston, TX area this weekend, where Cory's family is located.  Cory's family has not seen him in many years.  When he left texas, he weighed over 500 pounds!  Imagine when they see him!

I thank Mari for the update and wish them nothing but the best.  They are a very positive couple and I am glad that they are doing well.

Today is my birthday! My daughter is out of town so we are not really going to celebrate until she is back from DC. I looked at my horoscope today it said....

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Go after your goals. Now is not the time to stop, no matter what others are telling you. Anyone acting negatively is probably threatened by your intentions. Believe in yourself.

Dawn, glad to hear you are feeling a little better.  Hope everything is fine when you go for your follow-up appointment.

I don't have much going on today.  I sent Emily off to school with her face all made up like a cat.  She gets to change into her costume after lunch, then they have a party.  I can't wait to go trick-or-treating with her, it's so fun. 

I have a cleaning lady that comes once every two weeks, I'm so grateful she's here today.  Of course, that meant I was scrambling to pick up the mess around my hourse, but my husband helped.  I usually clean the house on her off week, but not this time!  Ugghhh, this place was ready to be condemned!

Omar, the countdown is really happening big time for you!  I remember how excited I was.  I was like a kid at Christmas!  You are in for the most awesome ride of your life!  Best wishes for a trouble free surgery on Monday and a speedy recovery!

Today has been an interesting day for me.  I am off work today because I had a 4 hour dental appointment this morning.  I am getting 6 front teeth crowned.  It is the first time in a long time that I actually have teeth on the lower portion of my mouth because they have all worn away due to tooth grinding.  I also now have a bite that keeps my jaw in alignment!  No more TMJ!  I have had that all my life!  I won't know what to do with my jaw not being out of alignment and no trouble chewing.    Right now it really feels strange.  Good, but strange.  I left a HUGE amount of money at the dentist's office this morning.  I swallowed hard and wrote the check.  I still owe another thousand but the worst is paid for.  It sure put a dent in my savings.  

It will be a quiet weekend for me.  I will be busy with trick or treaters tomorrow night.  My street is always busy.  I love seeing the little ones.  The big ones .... not so much.  They will be disappointed (the big ones) because I am not giving out candy but age appropriated toys.  (spider rings, sponge balls, erasers etc.)  Kids get way too much candy.  I always said I was going to do this and this year I am!  

Stay dry and pray for sunshine!

Congrats on your surgery date.....Just think a new life will emerge shortly.
I am leaving for chicago on Saturday of next week. Going to Ohio for 2 days then Chicago for about 6 days visiting my daughter. May go to Michigan for a few days before heading back down to Florida. But If I get a job Ill just put off the trip till later.
I want to come up North before the snow settles in and I cant get there.
My friends are comming for Halloween so I think we will go Downtown Sarasota and see what is going on there.

Good afternoon Illinoisans!

We went to Madison today and I had  an upper GI scheduled at 9 and Kay at 10. we were both done by 9:20! I just love Meriter hospital! The radiologist thought there might be a slip with the band but she didn't have time to compare the test with last year so I don't know until I hear from the doc. Haven't had any pain but I do think I PB too much and it's totally unpredictable so I never know what will stay down. One day it's no problem and the next the most simple things won't stay down. I'd rather hear something is wrong so it can be fixed. 

Otherwise we hit all the yarn shops in Madison and had a great day shopping.  We just love to shop in Madison!

Hello everybody!

It has been a while since I posted. it has been a very busy week back at work! I have been so tired when I get home that I dont even feel like moving. I just lay on the sofa and watch TV. It's sad, and a bad habit but WOW am I tired!

I have moved to the soft food stage! I am excited! Tonight for dinner I am having wheatables crackers and PB. YUM!... and its not pureed! yayay!

I threw up twice this week. Either from eatting something that just didnt agree with me or eatting too fast. Being busy at work I am going too long between eating and am depending too much on shakes for protein. When I have dinner I feel like I am really hungry so I have to force myself to eat very slowly. This is so difficult, but I am working on it.

I feel my restriction now. I know that some people say you dont get that feeling bac****il 6-8 weeks after surgery, but I am feeling it! I can tell when I need to stop as long as I am not eating too fast. And guess what... I am LOVING it! I love eating and feeling full. I love being able to say, ok I am done. This is so awesome. :)

I hope to be able to post more often!
