Questions for the longtimers? (XPost)
I had RNY in Aug 09. There is nothing in particular that I feel I am not doing correct, except I'm still waiting for the full feeling? My questions is did any of you feel like your surgery didn't work? Maybe its silly but I just have a fear that my RNY didn't work or I stretched my pouch. I'm sure this feeling is normal, just curious if any of you felt that way early out?
I am two year out and I still have the full feeling most of the time, in fact it is my head that tells me to eat no my tummy,
I sometimes feel like I am eating too much and other times I don't eat but a few bits , I think it is what you are eating, the more dense the food is the faster you will feel full,

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!
I am three years out today, and I very seldom get "full", especially in the way that I did before.
I Do know, when eating denser protein first, that I can't eat as much. I felt the same as you and my doctors assure me that everything is fine. I have not gained anything, so they muct be right.
You will just have to pay attention to WHAT you eat and practice good portion control.

I am surprised that I can eat more than I thought I would be eating without feeling full or having things come back up.
I have never had a full signal that people talk about and am hoping the under the rib signal is there once I move to normal foods. I am thinking that I can eat the larger amount than expected because it is soft and once chewed is almost liquid so it does not stop in my pouch.
It is not a lot of food and I am stopping with my head so maybe there is a signal and it his my head without my actually sensing a feeling on a conscious level.
In the hospital they definitely gave me too much food and I thought I should eat it so I was always miserable with a reflux type reaction and a few upchucks.

I have seen this on the main board and had the same issue. I have heard that the nerves are cut , and some never grow back so we don't feel full. I watch what I eat and do get an uncomfortable feeling when I've had 1 too many bites of something. With thiner foods we don't get a full feeling cuz they " slide" right thru. That's why we have to watch high cal drinks and soups.
Just hang in there!
