Tuesday Morning Roll Call
Good Morning Illinois Friends!
Well, we made it though a rainy Monday! So the bad day of the week is behind us.
For me, it ended up being a really bad day. I ended up with a Migraine and had to leave work and come home. My herniated discs are getting old. I called my doctors office again today to see where I stood in my referral to a neurosurgeon. It has been over a week and not referral. I got the run around of "We sent in the info to the neurosurgeon, didn't they call you?" No they did not. Well they called the neurosurgeon again only to discover the referral did not get there. Don't you think they would have confirmed that????
I called the neurosurgeons office to try to set up an appointment and was informed that the doctor would take 7 - 10 days to review my records and THEN they would call to set up an appointment. With that, I called my doctor back and asked for a referral to our local spine surgeon. I am not planning to have surgery, I just want treatment for now. I want to get rid of this pain and last time it took physical therapy to do it. I've put up with this for over a month now and I have had it. OK, I will get off my pity pot now.
I hope you are taking time to look at the beautiful fall colors that are around us. Our crazy weather has produced some vibrant leaves. So take the time to observe the next time you are out and about. It is pretty even in the rain.

hope you headache is better today, I used to get Migraines and I feel for you,
Well for me I am off to work, one of my residents was very active all last evening and last night, I sure hope that he is calm today,

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Oh Nancy, I am so sorry that you are in such pain. I, too hate getting the run around from the doctors office.Pain affects everything you do. I sure have that experience! I pray that you get to see your neurosurgeon sooner than the 7-10 days. That sucks!
Tomorrow I have my appointment with the ortho doc. My knee seems to be getting better - though I still have to find a good sleeping position. Sometimes I can lie on my left or right side but for a short time.
Nothing special here today. Finally getting my yearly work evaluation - but no raise since salary increases are frozen this year. Ugh! At least I have a job.
Dawn - hope you're getting stronger day by day.
Our fairly new post-ops - it gets better day by day. Keep up with the diet plan as directed by your doc. Walk, sip and rest!

I finally made it to the board before 9pm at night.lol I hope all is well with everyone today. I am so grateful for my RNY because I couldn't run around with my daughter to her shows like I do. But she had a show Sunday which caused me to do 3 flights of stairs 5 times. My knees told my age for the last 2 days with thisarthritis in them.
BUT, talk about grateful, this time last year, I wouldn't have went up them once. I just put some arthritis rub and keep on moving.
To Dawn and everyone I'll be praying for all of Illinois to have a WLS wonderrifficccc day!!! When the going gets rough, we just have to remember that tomorrow is a new day.

Well I lived through another Monday...
Nancy- funny thing I got a migraine too yesterday and left work an hour early. I just couldn't stand it anymore. I went home ate dinner took more medicine and went to bed at 6:30. I'm sorry about the run around you are getting. I hate HMOs.
I was in meetings most of the day yesterday with our bank (Chase). They are trying to sell us on different products. Well our liason at the bank hasn't seen me in 3 years and when she saw me she kept telling me how great I looked. She actually said I looked terrific. So I guess my weight loss is noticible to people who haven't seen me in awhile.

Well one day down and 4 to go. I cannot wait until this DOT audit is over so maybe I can relax at work a little. I come home and am so exhausted I went to bed at 7:30 last night and slept straight through until 6am.
Nothing else going on today, just work, work, work. Then hopefully I can stay awake to watch The Biggest Loser. I am thinking about going to see the Michael Jackson movie tomorrow night. Haven't decided yet, I will be staying at my dads house until Thursday because he will be out of town and it is easier to watch his dog there. It disrupts my dogs and cats when I bring her to my house because she has so much energy.
Well better get to work

Nancy and Crystal - do you think this LOUSY, RAINY weather might have contributed to your migraines? !!!
Hope everyone is doing well. On my second day of pre op diet. I really think I was suffering from caffeine withdrawal yesterday...I had a dull headache all day! We'll see what today brings.
Ended up heading up to Alexian to help take my niece home from the hospital (again). Long story, but it would have been 12:30 or 1 by the time we got back to home from Mahomet. She had driven herself up to the hosp and had her car. She said she was wide awake and hadn't taken any pain meds and could really drive herself. After much debate, we decided she could keep in phone touch and it would be ok. We (her mom and I) got home about 9:pm, and she got home about 10:30. All went well!
Today's payroll day, so better get busy working on that. Have a super day. georgie

I am "here" this morning. a little discouraged, but trying to remember that this is a slow process. Yesterday wound up being a bad afternoon and evening. Today, is a new day and I am hoping for a little imporvement. I might even call up to the doctor's just for some reassurance.

On another note....today is my 3 year surgiversary, so 3 years ago, at this time, I was waiting to be wheeled into the surgery that changed my life for the better. I may not have lost all that I had hoped, but I am much healthier and more active than I had been in over 20 years!
