Monday Roll Call
Randy hope that you are home soon and feeling better.
Not much on the agenda for today. I need to get Bella a grooming appointment. She is getting shaggy.
Janet-I posted the pork recipe. Glad that you enjoyed it.
Hope everyone enjoys the next few days as the temperatures will be warmer.
Have a great day everyone!
I am working today, then thinking of going to the Rockford Support Group meeting. I am on the fence, because I really want to get packed and get my sheets changed at home, but we will see what the day brings.
Yesterday, I went to Freeport for some errands then made a pork roast and David got his car running.
Tomorrow will be my last day of work for 6 weeks and probably a 3/4 day at that.
Paul has been gracious enough to share his private email address so that David can email him with updates after surgery. Paul will then post here.
I am looking forward to being "fixed"!
Figures that the weather would get nice while I can't enjoy it. Oh well.....such is life!
Everyone have a wonderful day!
Good to see everyone this morning.
Randy, I hope they do not keep you captive for long. As far as the meds go, no matter what they are giving you they are charging the state an arm and a leg. I had a bill of several thousand dollars for "self prescribed" meds when I had my knee surgery. When I asked for a breakdown, I was being charged several hundred dollars PER dose!!

Well it is back to work for me. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow and am anxious to see him. My compressed disc has caused my whole body to go numb all the way down to my toes. Fun! And my knee is going out on me more. Anyone have a new body they want to give me?

Not much else happening this week. Just hope to get though it one day at a time.
Have a great Monday and enjoy that Sunshine!!!

Randy, I'm sad to hear that you are in the hospital again but at least you are in good hands. You will get over this hump and then you will start on the wildest ride of your life! It will happen, I promise.
Dawn, your day is almost here and I'm sure that you are glad but anxious too. You've done all your research, etc. so I'm sure that everything will go ok.
Sorry I had to miss the party on Saturday but family issues and my own health issue - kept me away.
I am happy to say that I lost 3 pounds this week! Not from being on track though. Probably more activity. I have one day of being back on track and it feels good. I am working on it, one day at a time. Eating protein first, veggies, fruit. No drinking with meals; taking my vitamins. Now I will work on drinking more water in between my meals.
My knee is getting better slowly day by day. I've been sleeping in bed although waking up at times. Now I have to work hard on my part and get this regain off - once and for all. When I do get there, and I will - this amount will never happen again. I won't let it.
Crystal - restriction is a funny thing. Too much is not good as you will throw up with every meal. I got so tired of that scenario.
Monica - good luck with school.
Nancy - you've got a great spirit to get you through the back and knee problems. I need to be more like you.
Well, it's off to more work and finishing my breakfast.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
Hugs,
Lucy
I had a good weekend with the family. We went shopping on Saturday and it wiped me out! I still have to go to the grocery store today because we didnt get a chance to go yesterday.
I had some eggs yesterday and it made me very sick. I dont think that it was dumping but I dont know what the heck it was. I burped a lot and felt like I could puke at any second but didnt, and it only lasted for about 15 minutes.
This is my last week off of work so I need to get back on the work sleeping schedule.
I hope you all have a great day.
This is the first time I've felt like posting since Saturday. I was just exhausted yesterday. My family and I had such a wonderful time at Paul and Liz's party. Paul and Liz, it was such a great gathering, thanks for opening your home to us and all the work that goes along with that!

Emily had fun with the little girls and she keeps asking me for more pork and the chocolate peanut butter pie! I was happy to tell her I have the recipes now. My husband Steve can be really shy and quiet, but he felt really comfortable with you all as well. I think it was really good for him to see that I will get back to feeling normal eventually.
Randy, sorry to hear you are back in the hospital. You can always bring your home meds with you and they will allow you to take them. Usually, they just need to send them to pharmacy to validate what they are first, then just work with the nurses when you take them so they can chart that you took them.
My pain level is better today and I'm feeling more energetic, so I'm going to take a walk outside and accompany my husband to the grocery store. Tomorrow is my follow-up appt. with my nut and surgeon. I'm definately not getting enough protein in. In fact, I'm probably not getting enough fluids in either, I'm trying to do better with that today. Yesterday I only had 40 oz of fluid and 33 grams of protein. It's so weird to feel my sips traveling down and hitting my pouch, which then does a little burbling, flipping, dancing thing. I hope that feeling goes away.
The only time I've felt sick is first thing in the morning when I haven't had anything to eat or drink for several hours. I feel very nauseous and the first few sips of water feel miserable. Otherwise, I haven't felt sick or vomitted or anything.
Good Afternoon Randy and the rest of Illinois,
I am a litte late in posting today. I have been very busy at work this morning and this is the first chance I have had to breathe.
Randy I know what you mean about the meds at the hospital. When I went in for my gallbladder surgery, I brought all my meds with me because I didn't want to pay for theirs. They took them from me and told me they would give them to me on their schedule, then they tried charging me for my pills because they had to hand them to me. Needless to say I threw a fit and they took the charge off the bill. Anyway to make a buck.
Crystal M, I am so glad you have restriction now. I hope I can get some on the 28th. I will see you on Wednesday.
Another busy week and then Saturday I am going down to visit my brother at college and on Sunday we have to drive to Winnebago for a committee meeting for one of the car clubs we belong to.
Talk to everyone tomorrow and try to stay warm.
