Monday Roll Call
Good Morning Lisa and Illinois Friends
Well, I am starting my new work schedule this week. I dont show up for wor****il 10 am which is nice but then I wor****il 6:30 which is not nice. The extra morning time is great.
I started out this morning wrong by forgetting my ortho appointment.
It was on my calendar at home but not at work and I did not look at my date book over the weekend. In fact when they called me I was like "what appointment?" They were really nice about it and I am rescheduled for Wednesday.
No special plans for this week. Hope everyone has a great week!

Good morning Lisa and the rest of Illinois!
I am doing well today, I was able to pass a bunch of gas (sorry if that's TMI). I still have some left but I am feeling worlds better with that's gone. I am still sore, and can't wait to ge this drain out of me but other than that I am doing pretty darn good.
I'm still having problems getting 6 meals in so I am switching to protien shakes instead of the NSA CIB and high protien boost. The protien shakes even at 4oz have double the protien and protien helps you heal right? :)
Anyhow I can just tell I am going to get stir crazy over the next 2 weeks. So I just need to remind myself... rest rest rest!
The strangest thing though. I can't seem to stop watching the food network! Iove cooking and can't do that right now because im sore etc... and even though Im not hungry, I just love watching this stuff! lol
Lucy, I hope your knee feels better soon. I suppose the weather isnt helping it much either. :\
Paul, good luck with the fill and the personal training :) the training sounds so fun!
Dawn, crossing my fingers for you!
Deanne and Randy, I hope you guys are feeling better.. moving lots and getting tons of rest! *hugs*
Everybody else I hope you have a great day!

Hi Crystal. Thanks for the well wishes!
I sure remember the gas issues when I was a new post-op. It will get better!!
Yes, protein is necessary for healing. You do what you can do at this early point in time. It will get easier for you, I promise.
I watched the food channel - I think it was my way to mourn over the loss of food. I'd watch to see what people were making and thinking, oh yum. Now I rarely watch it.
Oh to be a new post-op again. I'd be so happy!
Take care and rest.
Hugs,
Lucy

Good Morning Everyone!
I know I'm late this morning, I slept in. I didn't do much this weekend but walking around the stores to get my walks in and resting with my husband. I have been staying at my sisters house so he came here this weekend.
Today I will be walking around, my sister makes sure that I walk for at least 30 minutes straight at least once a day. It was ruff at first but I'm doing great with it now. I'm eating puree protein only and drinking lots of water. The scale is going down.

As far as work goes, I'm currently unemployed. I had been a manger of a private practice dental office that merged with other offices and I was one of many that was terminated. I than was an office manager for a podiatrist. We had difference of opinions on privacy. So now I'm taking care of Deanna. I'm looking at a direct marketing program with natural food products, Seems to me this is going to be the right thing to do. Since I'm working on my health. I will keep you posted.
Paul congrats to you. That's Awesome.
Dawn-I have a feeling your going to have your surgery before the end of October.
Hoping everyone else is doing good.
Wishing you love and happiness.
Dear Georgie,
Thanks for asking about what people do. Sometimes it really nice to be reminded that we all have busy life's outside of our weight loss.
I'm an import/export coordinator for one of the largest paper companies in the world. We are the largest importer of paper for printing in the US. I handle all the customs paperwork and I plan vessels for optimization.
Which reminds me I have to get back to work.

Hi Illinois Family,
I've been having a nice day working around home and spending time with my daughter. School's out due to Columbus day so we've just been roughhousing, doing crafts and picking up a bit.
I made vegetable broth in the crockpot and have frozen it in small containers to use after surgery. I have some unflavored Isopure protein to use in it. I figure a nice warm mug of broth will be a welcome change from the cold, sweet shakes. Plus all the great vitamins from the vegetables wil be good for healing.
I'm also making beef vegetable soup today, a nice large batch. It will be dinner tonight, then again on Wednesday for my family. My sister and brother-in-law will be coming out to pick up Emily from school on Wednesday, as we don't know what time Steve will be back home after I'm done and all settled in ICU post-op.
Georgie, I am a cardiac critical care nurse at a large teaching hospital in downtown Chicago. I've been a nurse for about 9 years. Before I returned to school for a nursing degree, I worked in public relations and HR.
I love nursing. I meet all sorts of great (and some not so great) people. It keeps me learning new things every day. It's fun to find out there are other nurses on here!

Georgia,
I was a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse for 15 yrs until I got married in 2005 and then became a stay at home mom. I have a special needs son who is almost 11, ( behavior disorders) and then we had a baby in 2006, and decided I should continue to stay home with her until she goes to school. Now with the economy the way it is, I need to go back to work, but my son is really having difficult times. I have been looking for a home health position that will afford me some flexible hours so I can work while he is at school.
I am looking forward to seein everyone on Saturday, God willing, and if Noah is having a good day. Otherwise I may come on my own and leave them at home.
My dad is still undergoing his radiation/chemo treatments and is really feeling the side effects. I feel so bad for him. He is really down and frustrated lately. My brother has been spending some time with him and helping him out. I have been cooking for him and sending meals and extras for him to keep in his freezer. He had a CT scan today so we will see how things are going so far. He will see the radiation specialist on Wed and get the results.
Noah is still having lots of issues here at home and really getting more and more manic. His moods change with the wind, sometimes even quicker. It is really getting harder and harder to deal with him.
Of course no time for me lately. The only thing I have been doing is Physical therapy twice a week for the Interstital Cystis symptoms I was having. It seems to be helping.
I hope the post ops are doing well.
See ya all on Sat!
