Monday Roll Call

Hi Georgie.

I got the 3 shot Orthovisc - just completed the 3rd shot at the end of September. I seemed to be getting a bit better than my airplane trip over a week ago did me in.

I'm hoping that it gets better soon. I don't want to have a knee replacement until I can take off some more weight.

I was in better shape 2 years ago for the surgery. Ugh!

Thanks!
Lucy

Hi there Georgie :)

I work for Alexian Brothers Health System in their I.S. department. I am officially a business analyst but what I really do is maintain their billing and accounts recievable system. It is stressful at times but I absolutely love the organization and hope to be there in some position or another for a very long time.

Before that I worked as a network administrator for XO Communications downtown. I worked overnight, 4 10hour days. That was a dream job for someone my age (at the time), but it was short lived (only 4 years). They closed their chicago datacenter and I lost my job. I took that opportunity to go back to school for medical billing/coding and that is how I landed the job I have now.. I had the medical billing background and the I/T background :)

 Georgie,

Good luck today.  It may seem very over whelming.  I was over whelmed after that class, but went back to focusing on my gaols telling my self that I could do it.  I'm 6 days post op feeling great, losing and eating puree protein and drinking lots of water.  I can tell you that after surgery it was very hard to get my water in but now I'm not having any problems.  Wishing you a great day.

Love and Happiness.

Hi Deanna,

WOW,that was quite a class!  I am a little overwhelmed.  I know I can do it, I just want to spend sometime getting in my head, exactly what I need to be doing when, so will work on those things over the weekend.  Thanks for the tips.  georgie

Hi Georgie -

I worked in procurement for 16 years prior to moving to IL w/ my husband.  We then became franchisees, opened two restaurants and after three years were forced to sell them due to my husbands health.  I then went to work for General Electric and after 2 yrs w/ them, they sold our division to some outfit out of MD.  I eventually was laid off this past March.  I'm now wait tables at two different restaurant's day and night trying to make ends meet.  Some days are better then others but thank God for wls.  There is no way I could wait tables three years ago at 400 lbs.

Good luck w/ your upcoming surgery!

Hi Georgie, I'm Monica and I really need to start posting regularly here again!!  I miss everyone

Right now I am unemployed, not by choice, but when I was recovering from my nightmare surgery/complications in March/April/May and June of last year, the job I had filed bankruptsy and wham...I was outta work.  It was good because I could take all the time I needed to recover, but enough is enough..lol
I decided to enroll in college and start classes on Monday!  I am going to Everest College and will be studying to become a Medical Assistant.  I am also hoping to get a part time job at Pet Supplies Plus that is opening right by me.  So if that all goes as planned, I will be one busy person.  Add to that 3 kids, a husband and 2 dogs!!  yikes

Good Morning All!

I am starting to get a little excited as I enter the second to last week of my schooling for massage therapy.  I've started talks with a chiropractor and hope to have it lead to employment.  I'm also busy getting ready for more art shows leading up to Christmas.  I'm not as restricted as I feel I need to be, so I will probably go in for another fill next week just to make it a little easier to continue to lose.  I would like to shed another 12 pounds to create a nice "margin".  I start the personal training sessions this Friday so that should help.  Saturday is the meet and greet so I'm excited about that.  I posted a separate post with some details for that.  For now, it's Sponge Bob with Meredy!  Have a great day!

Good morning Lisa and the rest of Illinois!

I am back to work after a wonderful, fun weekend.  My girlfriends from Chicago came out and we had a huge fire in the backyard.  David brought out his boom box and we danced the night away!

We did some tie dye for my friend that missed the tie dye party and she was very happy with the results.

The kids did their auditions for "The Wizard of Oz" and I guess they are both cast.

My meeting with the surgeon on Friday went OK.  I need to talk to the surgery scheduler today to see if we can get this scheduled before the end of October.  Cross your fingers.

To answer Georgie's question-----I run a small business for my father-in-law.  He was forced out of his job by a huge company in town and he contracted with them to provide the service and support for the industrial instruments that they were obsoleting.  He thought it would be just something to carry him into retirement, but it turned into a REAL business, and he asked for my help running it.  I do bookkeeping, data entry, customer service, billing.....even shipping when needed.  The most interesting thing about my job is the customer contact with people all over the world.  I have received quite the education in foreign relations and it is pretty fun (usually).

I need to talk to Todd about Saturday, but I may just bring the grandchildren and take a road trip to Cary!

Have a great day!

Tell someone that you love them!

We have been up and at 'em for about 2 hours. Just sitting back and waiting for the rest of Milwaukee to wake up. We plan more walking today, exploring some of the small shops on Old World Third St and we are going to take a shuttle over to the Potawatomi Casino just to see what it looks like. It is a little over 2 1/2 miles from us. Dave wants to see what it looks like, not me.

Our lunch boat tour yesterday was fabulous. There was no narration of the sites so it was very restful. I had a small map with so I could tell what the different areas were that we saw.

Our train does not leave here until 5ish then back to Union station and then out to our town and then the short walk home.

Good morning Lisa and Illinois!

I too dislike the cold and dark mornings...but such is life...

Since I'm not working (this is for you Georgie) I have nothing to do today except take Bella out. Yesterday was her birthday, she is now a year old. Nothing special on my agenda today.

Have a great day!
Carol
